I really like the first 2/3 of the flick. I tended to fast-forward thru the last 1/3 as soon as the kids meet the aliens.

As a super classic, I am surprised this is not out yet.

A Must Have, for the collection.

As a kid, this was a video rental favorite...I wonder how it did in the theater at the time?

It bombed. Paramount took the movie from Joe Dante, barely advertised it, and released it the weekend of Live Aid. It never stood a chance. Pity.

Boo hiss! Thats too bad but at least it had a good reason it bombed. It wasnt just cause nobody wanted to see it. Thanks for the history.

Rewatched this flick the other day and enjoyed it but the third act has always been the weakest aspect of the film. The Amazon Prime stream is pretty good but a quality Blu-ray release would be fantastic.

Such a lopsided movie. Everything is building to a classic until that last third when things get stupid and awful. A real shame.

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of the last third either. Would of liked to of seen the over three hour cut.

Me too. Robert Picardo is fantastic as Wak. I feel sorry for the people who don't like it.
