Default The Black Cauldron: Special Edition coming this August?

From The Digital Bits:

And here’s something Rumor Mill worthy... the Disney Wiki has listed street dates for upcoming Disney Diamond Edition Blu-ray animated titles, including Sleeping Beauty (10/2), 101 Dalmatians (2/3/15), Aladdin (10/6/15), and Pinocchio (2/2/16). The very same Wiki has also listed the following additional BD releases for this year: Muppets Most Wanted (June), Hercules (6/10), Tarzan (6/10), A Goofy Movie & An Extremely Goofy Movie (2-Movie Collection – 6/24), Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers (Summer), The Black Cauldron: Special Edition (8/19), Bears (8/26), Fun and Fancy Free (9/30), The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (9/30), Saludos Amigos & The Three Caballeros (2-Movie Collection – 12/2), Make Mine Music & Melody Time (2-Movie Collection – 12/2), and Planes: Fire & Rescue (12/9). Salt this information appropriately, but still... these dates make sense. Thanks to Bits reader Bill M. for the heads-up.

That's my question as well. Very curious to see how it's handled. I'd love to see the alternate version of this film on the disc...

Yeah I know, they did very little with the DVD problably because of the lack of revenue from the theatrical exhibition

The only thing missing is Song of the South...perhaps a Diamond Edition in 2016 for its 70th Anniversary?

I never saw this as a kid and don't think I even knew about it until like 15 years ago. I bought the DVD a few years ago out of curiosity and actually liked it quite a bit! If the transfer is good and there are a few more extras than the DVD, I will gladly purchase the Blu Ray!

I am in for Goofy Movie too!

WOW! I just went on IMDb and read about the original cut of the film. I doubt it will ever happen, but it would be incredible if Disney released the original cut, or at least the deleted scenes. I love dark animation.

All the remaining WDAS films (minus Diamond releases), as well as A Goofy Movie by the end of the year? That would be fantastic, but we'll see.

Awesome man.

I saw this in theaters when i was 4 2 times and i dug it! i had the computer game, stuffed Gurgi and readalong with cassette.

Kind of like a cross between Heavy Metal, The Last Unicorn, Secret of NIMH, Dark Crystal, Fire and Ice and Princess Mononoke this movie is. I thought Ellinowy was cute when i was a kid and who else thinks Horned King is like Skeletor?

If all that is true, I'll be thrilled! Disney will be chipping away at a nice chuck of gaps in the animated Blu-ray library

It seems a UK release has been announced this morning as part of the "Disney Villains Collection"

Could this mean a US release very soon? Or stleast in the near future?

Why am I not surprised that this isn't getting a US release in August even though a UK release of it was announced only two days ago.
