Could someone please possibly add the Descendants 3 AIV/Amazon Instant Video release to the database? Went to add it myself but I'm half asleep and new to it lol (specifically adding AIV releases -- no idea where to find the ASIN). I'd really appreciate it!

Here are a few more that aren't in the database:

GoodFellas (snapcase)
085391203926

21
043396267206

Winged Migration (Special Edition)

https://www.amazon.com/Winged-Migrat.../dp/B000BI5KUQ

Porky's (widescreen)
024543036494
I think it's the same as this, including the cover, except mine is 1.85:1:
https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/Porkys-DVD/12036/

Pieces (Diamond Entertainment release)
011891980067
https://www.amazon.com/Pieces-Christ.../dp/B003V5A538
The Amazon link has the cover, but in an odd photo. This one is close (same UPC and exact same back) but the front coloring is off.

Here is another version of the right cover, probably the best option:

Thanks!

I'm trying to add some titles, but I guess I need to get up to Member rank before I do so? I'm a Junior Member now.

*Edit: OK, I've read back a few pages and see that I also need to be a member for a month. I do see that there are friendly members here that will add titles for us, so thank you for that. Questions:

1. Regarding music CD sets that come with Blu-rays, are those titles allowed in the database? Are they formatted differently?
2. Similarly, I have some video games that game with DVDs. Can those DVDs be added?
3. Speaking of video games, there were some "hybrid" discs released for the PS3 that had games and a movie (that plays in standard BD players). Are those formatted differently in the database?

Are the DVDs displaying correctly now? Often, it just takes some time for everything to update.

Will add the other titles later today.

1. Yeah, there is a CD field for Blu-rays sets that come with CDs.
2. Yup. For instance, I know that BloodRayne 2 came with the video game - https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/BloodRay...ance-DVD/1319/
3. And here is an example of an entry for one of those hybrids:

Thanks! I have another question. As I was adding titles, I noticed that one of my movies has a different cover than the one in the database. I assume, then, that I should add mine as a new version and fill out all the required info? There is a chance, however, that whoever added it in the first place used a stock picture that isn't reflective of the actual cover. If that's the case, is it something I should try to edit (the original listing) or add a picture to instead?

*Edit: And I thought of another question. LOL! I know I'm asking a lot, but I'd like to contribute when I'm able and I want to do things accurately. For foreign titles with a different alphabet (I have some Japanese BDs and DVDs), should they be entered by their roman title equivalent or the original language title?

You'd have to determine if the cover is wrong or you have a different release. If the cover is wrong, you can just submit a new cover to replace the incorrect one. If you have a different release, you'd need to create a new entry for it.

Best approach is usually to enter the English title first and put the original/foreign title in parenthesis. Like this:

https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/Deepwate...on-DVD/188787/

Including the English title makes it is easy to search for the release. Many of the foreign alphabets don't seem to work at all with this site's search.

In addition to what Evil wrote, I believe that the best way to check whether a release is the same, or not, is by the UPC code (nearly every Blu-ray & DVD in the database has one). As far as I know though, this info is only accessible by "Editing" an entry, but I'm guessing that option won't be available to you until you've been a member here just a bit longer.

I think it also worth mentioning that sometimes a release with 2 covers will be completely identical in every other way. Studios will occasionally change a cover someway to hopefully sell more copies, or for a theme (like a holiday or retailer exclusive). For example, I own this release:

but it doesn't have any of the white space or gold lettering, such as the "Academy Award Winner" language. The cover of the one I own looks much more similar to this release:

But both versions of the first one I posted have the same UPC code. So that in this situation neither cover is wrong or right, they're just combined. There's an argument for creating another entry that's the same in every way but the cover, but that can cause problems sometimes, so I've just left it alone.

I don't know your particular situation, but just wanted to try to convey that a "wrong" cover might sometimes be correct for some, just not for others. And generally that can be one of the challenges when editing or adding to the database, that there can be surprising information that you might not be aware of.

Thank you both for the replies. Rather than post a bunch of requests here, I'd rather get a feel for editing and adding once I gain access to do so. I have quite a few titles that don't seem to be in the database at all, and a few others with different covers. So I'll try the edit approach and check UPCs on the different covers before making new entries for them. Thanks again!

For the Australian version of Fifth Element 4K UHD here:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-F...9109/#Overview

No bar code is recorded for it at the moment, but I have a copy and can confirm it is 9322225229341 (as scanned by the Blu-ray.com app)

I don't seem to have edit access at the moment (because I just signed up, I presume), so if anyone could add that to the entry that'd be great

Also, audio specs are missing on that edition, but I can confirm that the 4K UHD Blu-ray disc included is the exact same disc as the US Sony Pictures release - quite literally the same, as the distributor here simply bought their discs from Sony US and put them into local packaging with the Australian BD

picked this up locally for cheap and when I looked to add it to my collection, I couldn't find it anywhere.

https://www.amazon.ca/GI-Joe-Retalia.../dp/B07NZYNR4F

and there's 4 (or 5?) Mission Impossible Steelbook that are also not listed. can't find much info but I only bought it locally as well. Only got MI1 since it was the only one available.

https://editioncollector.fr/wp-conte...er-960x587.jpg

both had a slip over the steelbook to acommodate the english & french description, so it's definately Canadian.

I created an entry for it:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/GI-Jo...lu-ray/251731/

Is 024543253860 the correct UPC?

Is it a steelbook or a metalpak? The Amazon listing says steelbook but it looks a lot like the Target exclusive metalpak:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/GI-Jo...lu-ray/123283/

The link isn't working. Can you upload the picture or provide another picture? Do you have the UPC?

Hi Evil,

For GI Joe, UPC is wonky, there was one UPC sticker # 032429322005 glued over another UPC #032429208477. and I guess you were right as being a Target exclusive. there's a digital hd UV code on the back of the j-card with a "white & red round" + ticket mention, just like the Target logo.

As for MI1, can you see the image ? UPC is wonky. there was one UPC sticker # 032429323347 glued over another UPC # 032429277442.

EDIT: both looks like metalpak. they do not have the Steelbook logo in the inside of it. here's the inside.

Ok, thanks for the info.

I updated the GI Joe entry:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/GI-Jo...lu-ray/251731/

And I created the MI entry:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Missi...lu-ray/251896/

Can you take pics of the slips that you mentioned earlier? It would be cool to add those to the entries.

sure. no really slip more the film description. I'd have thought they'd be in french as well but apprently not. weird. and yes GI Joe is looking like old cardboard video games that were thrown everywhere, but it's new.
