Probably; I just prefer the audio to be more "forceful," so to speak, at a lower overall master volume number (hence the desire to also use Onkyo's "IntelliVolume," as we have discussed here).

My systems have NEVER distorted, sounded shrill or harsh or experienced any kind of headroom exhaustion using these dB values -- even at higher SPLs.

Well ............................... Just the fact that you're using the different gains that are there to balance the system for some kinda false boost so that your master volume reads lower for a given SPL
