Hey guys, I actually had some answers given to me from the Atmos thread, but realized Im asking more amp related questions.
Im running my surround backs through an external amp on a 9.2 receiver to complete a 7.1.4 set up. I was recommended the Audiosource amp-100 but some of the reviews made me ![]() Not exactly cheap when I found that a bit more would get me: https://emotiva.com/products/amplifiers/mini-x-100 which comes to 270 CDN + tax and lastly this one from Onkyo http://www.onkyo.ca/Products/model.p...lass=Amplifier 328 CDN + tax Im running these for surround backs http://www.pioneerelectronics.ca/POC...ers/SP-BS22-LR Obviously the amp is like more expensive than the speakers, ironically, but these are the three Ive FINALLY narrowed it down to. Just taking a final recommendation and I'll be done with it ![]() |

I have 17 channels of Emotiva bliss
![]() 2 - XPA-5's & one UPA-7 on a 9.3 system ![]() You cannot go wrong with Emotiva for any reason at all. What you choose is up to you but an Emotiva amp will give you the clear / clean sound you are after ![]() |

*Update* The Emotiva mini-x a-100 has a 1-2 month wait on shipping, and I "can" wait but if I can avoid that I wouldnt mind.
I was searching again and found this amp which is the same as the Emotiva BPA-1 http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/dayton_apa150_e.html http://www.daytonaudio.com/index.php...amplifier.html It's also 70.00 cheaper compared to the a-100.... Its available right away too. Thoughts? Is it a good alternative or should I wait for the a-100 because that one is worth the wait? ![]() Last edited by Caesu; 12-26-2015 at 04:32 AM. |

I currently have a home theater mainly used for watching movies/TV. It is currently a 7.2 system with Sunfire CRW-3 for the LCR, Sunfire bipoles for the side and back surround and 2 Sunfire Subs, powered by a NAD m17 pre-amp and a Sunfire 7401 amp. I will soon be adding at least a pair of height speakers for a 7.2.2 system once NAD updates its module. The Sunfire amp only has 7 channels, and I will need to at least run 9. Question is: do I buy a dedicated 3 channel amp for the LCR and run everything else off my current Sunfire. OR get an identical sunfire amp so everything is run equally. Or a third option. Thanks
