It seems everyone agrees Pioneer (current or next generation) is best picture. But I am also concerned about size. I believe Pioneer only has a 60 inch while Panasonic has 65 inch. Any Comments?
Also; when will Panasonic come out with next generation (USA) |

I'm sure the next gen Pioneer line will include a 65" or 70" flagship. Based on the snipped from Perfect Vision, it is worth waiting for the rollout of the new models. I need a 50".

When is the release date for the 8th gen Pioneer Plasma sets (the one shown at CES 2007 expo)???
Also, will it have HDMI 1.3 in it? |

I would go with one of the Panny's, if someone wanted to purchase a plasma these days. ![]() |

I want to buy a new TV for another room of the house and my problem is I have no idea what to get. I think there was a forum back then called 'HI-DEF Junkie's' or something and it was really helpful back then. |

I was able to see the Panasonic a week or so ago, setup in a pretty decent viewing room and calibrated properly. It was playing Planet Earth, and as much as I am a die-hard plasma fanatic, I will be perfectly honest... it is absolutely unbelievable. The fine detail and clarity is provides is something I have never seen before... it's something my Panasonic VT25 can just barely begin to reproduce. It's like looking through a perfectly clean glass window... basically as close to real life as I've seen. The brightness/contrast is superb, much more like in real life than my plasma can produce. I was seriously floored by it with any "reality" material played through it like Planet Earth or any BBC nature shows. It's also extremely impressive for movies with the added contrast/brightness, although I personally still am held back just a bit by it's presentation of films... I prefer the presentation plasma gives, and I will still give the nod to plasma as well for motion presentation. The HZ2000 gives the best motion I've ever seen on any non-plasma tv, but it's still not quite there yet for me personally. I will be keeping a close eye on newer OLED models coming out in the next couple years, as the brightness, clarity and fine detail of the HZ2000 picture is mind blowing, and a clear improvement over my 10 yr old plasma. As for now, I will be still looking for a Panasonic VT50/VT60 if my VT25 dies on me at the moment... but damn, that HZ2000 makes a great case for itself and is so very tempting! ![]() |

I've got 3 plasmas as well: A 768p 50" Pioneer from 2004, 1080i 50" Panasonic from 2005, and an LG 60PB6900 from 2014. I got a cheapo Samsung 4K LED earlier this month and after some use, I find I still very much prefer the look of my LG plasma.
