Yeah i got it and its great, using it on my BDT220 and it was a pretty straight forward to do.

The only horror story I can see from your link is that people don't seem to be able to read and follow the instructions for getting the firmware but I guess that's more a problem with the American education system than an issue with the site or its administration.

Thank you very much. If i remember correctly tho there was something with numbers before the region setting. Unfortunately the site is down and I did not write it up. And your suggestion did not work on my machine.

Above is from Site itself. Region change is same across all BD/UHD models. There is no region free. You can only change the region.
Does your remote has Option button ?

Example 1: The following remote control button sequence will set the region settings of your device to

DVD region 1 / Blu-ray region C with DVD region verification disabled
OPTION OPTION OPTION 1 3

The device will restart itself after each complete remote control button sequence to acknowledge sequence recognition. This is part of the normal operation !

Does your remote has Option button ?

It has one,still that sequence does nothing, no restart, Code A will not play.

Ok..Thats strange. Check your firmware version just to be sure official firmware is not updated over the enhanced firmware. I think the FW version should have 'A' at the end.

No thats not the case. never updated anything after installing the "A" Firmware. It was about 10 years ago tho.
