Official Outlaw Model 5000 Amplifier

Outlaw has just introduced a new multichannel amplifier the Model 5000.
120 watts with 5channels driven into 8 ohms and 180watts into 4 ohms for $599.

Looks like care has been taken to separate the power banks.
Has enough power to fill moderately sized rooms.

I just purchased the 5000 amp along with the 975 processor yesterday. Can't wait to fire these up when I get them.

I'm seriously considering picking up the combo soon as well. It's an insanely good deal and I've been nothing but impressed with Outlaw so far. I've honestly been considering something like the Marantz 8802 with one of the 200W 7-channel Outlaw amps, but when compared to this product it looks like extreme overkill for the kind of speakers I have now. Obviously room to upgrade but this is about the best value in home theater in my opinion.

that's a nice amp, great price for a multichannel amp too. i will be keeping my eye on this one as i'm thinking about adding height channels. i could use this amp to replace the 2 channel amp that is doing surround backs and let it drive the 2 surround backs and a pair of heights too. NICE!

great review at audioholics too! i bet emotiva sure wishes they had that upa-500 back to compete with this amp! the outlaw amp has more juice than the emo amp did so, that's a plus and for not a lot of coin either.

Yes, and it's supposed to be much more feature-rich than the Model 975, with balanced outputs, room correction, etc. No word on release date though.

I'm not really sure what happened, but I just noticed on my tracking invoice that Outlaw is sending me the 7075 amp instead of the 5000 amp. I checked the Outlaw website and the 7075 amp is for 7 channels and costs more than the 5000 amp. But I was only charged the price of the 5000 amp. I guess Outlaw knows that I want to upgrade to 7 channels instead of 5. I know that I probably wouldn't notice any difference in sound quality and I've read that Outlaw amps are conservatively rated so it shouldn't be a problem. They're scheduled to be delivered Saturday. Hopefully weather doesn't hold up the delivery.

The 7075 is a 75 watt per channel amp, in case you are not aware.

Pulled the trigger on one of these. One solid, heavy, warm and clean 5 channel amp for a great price! I see why it has received great reviews. I'm using 4 of the 5 amps for bi-amping my front Paradigm Monitor 11 v7 towers and they sound better than when I was using the bi-amping option in my Marantz SR 7009 receiver! A little more power too!

I'm curious, in what ways is it better? Highs, lows, soundstage, clarity, etc. I have the same speakers and a mid-level Denon, and am wondering how an external amp can improve them.
