AV Preamp just took a dump! Help!

I am replacing my preamp (Outlaw Audio 950).

What's important to me:

- Absolute true bypass for two channel listening
- Ability to apply or not analog bass management in two channel
- 7.1 analog inputs / outputs
- At least 2 HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs

What I'd like is to keep the above features and add atmos.

Here's the clincher... I'd like to stay under $1500.00

As we consider, pure audio sound quality will trump all other features for me.

Thanks atmos would be nice but way way more important to me is true analog pass through. I can't find that info very easily. I've pot this thread at four different forums with hardly any response ....

I'd strongly consider the new Yamaha Aventage CX-A5100 Pre/Pro. Grab one for around $1999 on the net. ( prices should be dropping a tad soon )

It fu%kin rocks bro! The balanced connection should always be taken advantage of if you have that option. ( a 30lb beast )

Happy Hunting...... if you don't need Atmos and have no plans for 4k then you can go with the CX-A5000 for less than $1800.

no way possible for new given the budget amount; are you open to used? most true pre-amps (even some receivers) offer the ability to do pure analog with or without the bass management. I to do like my analog components and I like them straight through, no bass management from the pre-amp; I control that at the source side, in my case an Oppo 105D

I'm upgrading my aging pre-amp in the next couple of months to the Marantz AV7702mkii.

Yes used is a viable option. So far on my radar are the following.
McCormick Map1
Emotiva UMC-200
Outlaw Audio 990
Anthem vm30
Yamaha (pre only though)
Marantz 7702

Vinyl is pure audio than video player is nosing. Intergrate amplifer is perfectly music for vinyl. I use Oppo for DSD SACD or Bluray pure audio. The player is best audio pure and no video make less noise.

I bought a Emotiva UCM 1. Remember just as a volume control, no processing. It's just switching analog two channel bypass to analog 5.1 bypass.

I'm hoping this is the right thread. So I have no experience with using a preamp, and I'd like to add one to my current setup to take the strain off of my home theatre receiver. Can anyone here recommend a 2 channel home theater preamp. I am wanting to add one to my current home theater receiver (Yamaha RX-V1800BL). I am currently running a 7.2 setup. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also my budget is between $400-600.

Just an update. I ended up selling the UMC-1. It didnt sound as good as my previous Outlaw Audio 950. It made loud spike sounds when switching inputs and outputs no matter what I did. Great Customer service though. I sold it and went a different direction.
