Says that there will be a retailer that will have a steelbook designed by Mark Brooks as a pre-order bonus so probably gonna go that route instead of looking at this edition.

Wonder if you buy the game with steel and then return just the game if they deduct $10 or whatever? Would be worth it just for the steel

I was wondering this too. On my order it seems to imply the steelbook might ship after the return window. Never preordered one of these before, just bought the empty steelbook after the fact.

You seem pretty knowledgeable about video game steelbooks, is this something that could be offered sans the game? I have bought empty steels from BB before, usually under $10. Is that just stock that didn’t presell?

Usually it seems to depend on store stock and preorders. I know my local store almost always has several extras of preorder steels.

If you want the steelbook in that edition then yeah. They have multiple ones releasing. Preorder one also available.

It’s always after release that it has happened and it’s been 10-15 on average, depending on the title.

Yeah I remember I got my son the Fallout 76 steelbook and one other one that came out at that time, can't remember which, on sale for $5 each. I think they are usually about $10 regular retail though.

Yeah, typically game steelbooks will be available for individual purchase some time after the game comes out, assuming there are any leftover. Similar to blu-ray steels, there are times when the pre-orders are so great that there are none left over. Doesn't happen too often but can.

Prices for steels can vary as well. Typically they say a $9.99 free gift and can sell for that but can be listed for more. Case in point, can purchase the Resident Evil 3 remake or Shenmue 3 steel by itself but is listed for $19.99 while the Doom Eternal steel is $9.99. Doom only came out a couple of weeks before RE3.

Yeah and I’d bet it is likely around that $20 dollar limit. Given that people will likely pay it for a marvel steel.

Part of the reason why I have no problem with it. Was one of the last games I got with gcu as well so 50 plus a steelbook is great.

I went ahead and preordered for now(ditto the SW Lego). Avengers is a hot property. Who knows if the steelbooks are all presold. I can always flip the game to recoup costs and probably arrive at the same number.

As long as the offer is listed, you should get the steel. There have been a few cases of the pre-orders being so high that the free steel quantity runs out/extremely low and if that happens they'll remove the offer.

So with the best buy steelbook for buying from them, how long does it take before they list the steelbook for sale separately? I own the game physically but that's a great looking steelbook
