Square-Enix Store exclusives are the worst. While the steelbook is nice, the entire set is overpriced to hell and back, and the quality of the rest of the goods is abysmal at best.

Been burned twice before, never again. Not even for Nier.

Square Enix Store. Purchased the Final Fantasy Type-0 and Nier Automata collector's editions. Shipping was dipshittingly expensive, and both arrived damaged anyway.

It took me almost two weeks to negotiate a replacement for Type-0, while they outright refused to do anything about Automata. Not even a partial refund despite the photographs I provided.

Factor in the fact that Type-0 is now worth roughly half of what I paid, and Automata still didn't really justify the cost (despite it being rare as balls today), and yeah, I would say burned twice.

Square-Enix exclusives are just not worth it. Worth being relative and a matter of degrees: Price, customer service, product quality, shipping. It'll always be at least one of those, and judging from the horror stories I've caught on Siliconera over the years, issues are so frequent it's a mystery how their store is still operating.

Whales will be whales, I guess. As long as people keep ponying up hard cash without thinking twice (or even once), business will be good.

EDIT: Also, did you notice that the steelbook here is backwards? They put the cover on the back while the plain logo is on the front. For the sake of those who purchased this, I really hope this is a photoshopped mistake. But......then again, Square-Enix Store Exclusive...
