Yeah. Apparently the 110” MicroLED model will be around $150K based on the (I believe) Korean price. Can’t imagine the 88” model being even half of that.
It is, however, a good sign for regular consumers since that means they can now produce them in one piece (not requiring professional installation), and in the not-too-distant future make them more affordable. Similarly to how it happened with OLED. That was prohibitively expensive at first (and only at 1080p resolution) and years later, well, you know how it is now. At least miniLED does seem to be becoming more mainstream now. I just wished they used each individual led as its own zone instead of clustering them together (creating less zones). It still helps but obviously the more zones the better contrast and overall quality you’ll get. |

FWIW, a person on AVS got his Samsung 75QN85A today and confirmed it has 1000 dimming zones. So it looks like the 55 has 576, 65 has 792 and the 75 inch has 1000. I assume that will be the same for the US 90A version and the European 95A versions.

Just read over on AVS that RTINGS is saying the 55QN85A uses an IPS panel while the 55QN90A uses a VA panel.

Rting's review of the Samsung QN85A
Rting's review of the Samsung QN90A I was considering these two for my next TV, but both TVs only having 1 HDMI 2.1 port on each is a deal breaker since I own a PS5 and Xbox Series X. |

How do the dimming zones on the 75” QN90A compare to the 65”? I’m contemplating going with a larger size, but I’m just wondering which size has the most dimming zones per square inch (hopefully that makes sense).

Very good question. I don't know the amount of local dimming zones on each size, but I do expect the 75" will have more local dimming zones and more LEDs.
Also being that the QN90A is a MiniLED display you will only have moderate blooming of bright objects when they are against a dark background and only when you are viewing the TV in low ambient light. |

Thanks Robert, I was just curious if the 792 zones for the 65” I’m seeing listed everywhere was universal for all the larger sizes or does it vary

Right now,the mini led tv's don't have the algorithms and the processing power to make them reach their full local dimming potential..if we think at the number of zones. The QN90A is a great tv but it is a first generation mini led. 2-3 years from now Samsung will probably make some spectacular FALDs, probably all 8K, as they have the best algorithms right now .
I also hope the local dimming will be available and fast enough in the game mode despite the fact they might have to group(reduce) the number of zones in that mode. |
