Touché. But in either case the option was there and it didn't affect him in the slightest.

He's immune. To this and so much more.

You sell that in shampoo form, though, don't you?

In case you forgot the question, here it is again: How does it benefit Netflix to force people into watching more of their content in less time?

It's not an age thing. I have no idea what he's talking about either.

I'm not sure he does, either. He knows he doesn't like it, so he has to be afraid of it.

That seems to be his reasoning. If Steedeel hates something then it will inevitably become mandatory. None of these corporations care about money and do things because it makes good business sense, they are just trying to make Steedeel miserable.

In the future all videos must be watched on vertically oriented mobile phones at 5 times speed while standing and eating vegetables.
Why? Because Steedeel will hate it!

Well, at least the videos will be short and the veggies will be high in fiber. If anyone needs a diet high in fiber, it's him.

To retain their audience. If they find that people are staying on longer because they can get through a series binge in less time so move on to the next show.

Back ass-wards logic; why would they stay longer if they finish watching everything sooner? But when exactly did you tell us this? Where is the link to that earlier post where you claimed to have delivered this epiphany?

He did say it. I just didn't want to link to it because I didn't want to assume it was the absurd argument he was doubling down on.

I should know better then to ever give Steedeel the benefit of the doubt. He will inevitably prove all of my crazy assumptions about him to be true.

Well, he rarely disappoints, does he?

I must've have missed it; proof that I shouldn't read his posts at 1.5X the normal speed.

So, if a person watches all that they offer of interest in far less time, they will stay longer. Makes perfect nonsense.

And I do appreciate perfection.

Hopefully a basic summary can allow us to move past all of Steedeel's nonsense.

My Concerns:
Less support for physical media means less titles released on physical media.
Some of the titles that are only released digitally will become unavailable in the future.

Steedeel's Concerns:
Streaming will lead to the end of all movies and TV shows as we know them.
They will be replaced by short videos, fast videos, mobile-only videos, and/or interactive videos.

And you can't sit while watching them because of the Ass Tax (TM by Octagon).

You will have to watch them on vertically oriented mobile devices because vegans are coming for your large screens and millenials only watch vertically framed videos.

It will be mandatory to do what millenials do, if they can even remember what that is long enough to tell us. They are the only market demographic that business will cater to. Well, them and vegans, that is.

Penguin, your concerns kinda pale in comparison here.

That won't ever happen. But there is a concern that Cinemas will eventually close. That is a real threat because you can't rely on blockbusters to keep the cinemas afloat. But if even if the cinemas close and content is for TVs only, you will still have 'real movies'.
