Same here. The only one I loved was the original. All the others I played since (N64 and Wii) put an emphasis on luck rather than skill (**** the blue shell). They sound like they're aware of this and while they didn't say it's outright fixed, it's mitigated. Of recent memory Sonic All Stars Racing seems the only one to have done this right. It does look gorgeous though. Shame there's no pre-order bonuses for NA yet that I've seen.

I agree somewhat, although I do love the Gamecube Mario Kart. That and the Super Nintendo Mario Kart are my faves.

I did stop buying them cause no matter how well you raced if you were first you were always getting screwed somehow.

This one looks so good though, I'm definitely in even though I'm not a fan of the motion controllers.

Is motion even needed? I plan on using my pro plus controller for this.

Not sure, haven't kept up with the title. I'm hoping that its not needed though since I'm not a fan of motion.

I'm pretty sure the only "gimmick" is that the gamepads screen will be a horn. Other than that I'm pretty sure all control styles are represented.

Just looked up on wiki

I'll definitely pick this up at some point. It looks really cool, particularly with the hovering feature.

I probably won't get it immediately upon release, but maybe when I find it on sale or something. I just finally picked up Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze when Best Buy had it on sale for $40 this past week.

Is 7 any good? Sorry, don't mean to throw thread off topic a bit.

[Show spoiler]I bought it for 3DS but hadn't had time to load game. Another reason why is I'd like to wait for a 3DS grip from Japan I ordered.

+1. I have been waiting for this since the Wii U was released. I wonder if us in the US will get the special edition.

I've been wondering too. If Wind Waker got a statue, this should get something.

I'm a big Mario Kart fan. I've played them all ever since Super Mario Kart first came out when I was a kid. Mario Kart 64, Wii, and 7 are my personal favorites. This new one looks pretty damn awesome, I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm waiting on an announcement as well. I almost missed out on the wind waked limited edition because I didn't even hear about it until last minute and it was sold out, I managed to get one online at GameStop.

I wish they would have a Double Dash mode. Double Dash and Super Mario Kart are my two favorites in the series.

I hear they will be having more item customization in this one. Hopefully we can have some all blue shell and bullet bill races.

Have they said how multiplayer will work in this? My brother has a WiiU as well and we'd like to play together on our own systems. Will they allow that or is matchmaking completely random? I'd love to go through the career (story) mode with him.

from what I seen it will be same as previous game split screen with 2 human players and x amount CPU's players.

they also made changes to the items, you can now only carry one item,
before if you had 3 green shells etc around you cart or dragging an item you could have an other item in you box ready to go, this is no longer the case.

also now the bikes play the same as the karts, you no longer get boasts etc for Wheelies,
