Default Dracula (1958)

I was informed that the Spanish release of DRACULA (1958) (HORROR OF DRACULA in the US) is a bootleg of the UK release without the added Japanese footage. Shouldn't it be removed then since it's not an official release?

If you do that you'd have to remove all of the releases by all the bootleg studios Resen, Llamentol etc. and the Italian bootleg distributors.

I say keep them in the database so you can avoid buying them. Amazon doesn't provide enough information on them, they don't even list the studio distributing them any more, at least here you can tell if its a legal distributor and decide if you want to buy it or not.

Most laypeople, me included, do not know what's legitimate and what's not. I use this database as a reference. I am well-aware about the issues with Amazon--I've been using them since they sold only books--and Ebay, which was very down on bootlegs at one point, is now rife with them. I would prefer a database with only official releases, so if it's not on the list, the average consumer knows it's unofficial. That's just my two cents. I'd like a moderator to respond.

By refusing to list these things they'd be making the judgement that they're definitely bootlegs.

We may consider them to be, but they may not be under Spanish law.

The mods (and Amazon) can't check the legality if every release.

If a label is successfully prosecuted in the Spanish courts, that's different. Until then, sticky wicket.
