Default Actors who look uncomfortable on camera

Obviously this will be very subjective but there are a number of actors who IMO just look really awkward and uncomfortable on screen. I'm not saying that they're bad actors, just that they never look comfortable being filmed.

I'll start with Kristen Stewart and Diane Kruger.

I don't agree with either of those choices, and I definitely don't agree with Stewart as a choice. K-Stew looks horribly uncomfortable when she's being interviewed sometimes. But in her performances, I don't think she looks that way at all. Now, I haven't seen her as a much younger actress (the Twilight movies, IOW) so maybe she did in fact look that way back then. I just don't know.

But in films like Clouds of Sils Maria or Personal Shopper, with work like that I don't find her uncomfortable at all. So, maybe it just has to do with which performances one has seen or is focusing on.

Or is that sarcasm, since he often plays characters who are naturally uncomfortable?

It's tough to tell in print.

Some actors tend play to their strengths. Anthony Perkins comes to mind as being uncomfortable and awkward, but there may have been other reasons for than that rather than just being uncomfortable in front of the camera.

Kristen Stewart uncomfortable and nervous vibe worked really well in personal shopper
I really liked her performance in that. I haven't seen the new Charlies angels but she just
doesn't seem like she can pull off a character like that. Some actors need to be typed cast.

Julia Stiles. She always looks like she doesn’t want to be there.
Neve Campbell. She usually looks like she’s on a gig she didn’t want.

Daniel Auteuil. Great actor but his default expression is that of a man who thought he was going to fart but followed through and knows that any second now everyone else in the room is going to know it.

I know this is low-hanging fruit, but: Chuck Norris.

That guy can't even walk across a room unselfconsciously. I don't think I've ever seen another "actor" who so clearly broadcasts their inability to pretend that the camera doesn't exist. I always feel bad for him because he's clearly trying but it's just painful to watch.

Also agree with those -- they both have the air of a temp worker who's just there to pick up an extra shift for some beer money. None of their performances seem to have any inner life. They're just mechanically hitting their marks and waiting for the other actors to shut up so they can speak their lines.

Having seen The Omen remake, can you blame her? Liv Schrieber looks like he'd rather be anywhere else and is missing his kids' sports day in that one.

Not seen any of his recent films but even working with Herzog or Cronenberg I always get that impression from Robert Pattinson.

Timothy Olyphant in some of his earlier roles (Die Hard, Hitman), but he has grown on me.

KStew is the #1 choice here...she acts like she has appendicitis in every movie. Total cringe.

I always kind of got that vibe from Harrison Ford. He always just struck me as someone who would much rather be anywhere else other than the movie he's acting in. Maybe it's all part of a tough guy, laissez-faire attitude that he wants to project in his acting, but I see it as very thick sarcasm instead.

Kevin Costner. Some directors like Ron Shelton and Clint Eastwood seem to get more relaxed and charismatic performances out of him, but he often seems very stiff and over rehearsed.

She's terrific in Charlie's Angels, she seems like she's having so much fun.
