Thereís been one report in the wowhd thread of duties being charged. Seems like it was shipped with someone other than DHL. That order may have been over 200.

I have ordered a max of 170 myself and havenít been hit, yet. Ymmv.

The price you see is the price charged to your card. Nothing more.
That's awesome! I need to look into Wowhd more in the future.

I don't think an order would go over $100 typically for me.

Thank you both for the information (:

So my bank lady took me out for a hockey game and we were talking about my spending habits.

She said that if I do a lot of US purchases, it would make sense to have a USD credit card. This would be paid off in USD and you can somewhat control when you do the conversion.

I wish my bank lady would take me out to a hockey game.

Don't you need a US address for a US credit card?

It was a last minute thing and yeah, it was a Sens game.

Her boss was coming in from Toronto and she needed clients there, so I was happy to help out. :-) As it turned out, they were the BMO box seats, fully catered.

I suggest going into BMO and getting to know your investment banker. I'm not even a customer. I guess that's why I got the tickets.

So BMO apparently offers a USD credit card in Canada.

I'm not sure of the details, but apparently if you have a USD bank account with BMO, you can pay the credit card in US funds directly. That means no Canadian conversion fees and if you time things right, you can get low rates by converting when the loonie is high.

There is a fee but I think it is waived if you spend $1000 in a year. Not an issue for blu-ray addicts. :-) It's worth considering if you travel or spend a lot in the US. I signed up for it, so I'll give it a try for a year.

By the way, I just received my BTAS Ultimate set from the Amazon US. $6.00 shipping. Not too shabby.

When they ship stuff from their American warehouse, I think it gets processed (cleared with customs) and re-labeled from a Canadian location for delivery. If you are going by what the return label reads, that may not be accurate of origin.
I want to thank you for this.. I almost tripped out seeing it came from canada again.. remembered you said this.. then noticed the Landmark label was partly showing under the new label.. it's a Canada Post re-label. not actually amazon themselves.. why they don't actually use the origin as the shipper, but whatever..
