Sounds like the kind thing that gets held back on really big releases so the studio has a built-in double-dip.

Only thing is, another 3D release seems doubtful. So that's bad for us...

Its a good point. I donít know, but would like to know.

To be clear Iím not arguing one way or the other on whether AR changes are a sign of a meaningful film or not. Just correcting that Nolan has them but would rather not.

For big releases like this one the first post in the thread is usually also updated with region coding, version details, links etc.

What is the difference between the 3D disc that has the #12 on the bottom let vs. the version that doesn't?

Is there ANY quality difference both in picture or audio?

Amazon has the one with the #12 in red and blue on the bottom left where as on ebay it does NOT have any #12. From my understanding the #12 only denotes rating of the film i.e. language and violence.

I call Buena Vista tech support and they were clueless on their on product.

The Indian version only has 5.1 English track, the UK has 7.1

Gotta ask -- did you seriously expect them to know the detailed differences b/w the UK and Indian 3D Disc specs? There may be 50 people in the world that could answer that question even if you gave them enough to go on, and I bet 30 of them post here.

Notice no quality difference in picture on the Blu-ray 3D, but the English Audio has a "quality" difference..

The UK version (#12 in red and blue) has an English DTS-HD MA 7.1 track. Distributed by Walt Disney Studio Home Entertainment, UK & Ireland Division.
The India version has an English DTS HD High Resolution 5.1 track. Distributed by Sony DADC Manufacturing India.

Thank you for the informative reply!

But I don't understand, this is so dumb, the money, resources, and time to DVD author the 3D version, with packaging, etc, that they are ALREADY doing, why not just have some in the US?

Obviously they are doing all of this, how much harder is it to make a few more (hence they are duplicating these ALREADY) for the US market?

Okay, so the US market is a LOT LOT less than the International market for 3D. But selling an extra 5,000 units that is ALREADY being made and sold, wouldn't hurt?
Why make it more difficult and a wild goose chase (wondering if it's legit from Ebay, or having to figure out if it's the best version with the highest quality video and audio, etc) to get these from other countries, instead of just having our local Best Buy carry them?

3D IS STILL ALIVE.
Best Buy STILL sells and stocks 3D movies
And to top it off, Avengers 1 & 2 were released in 3D in the US, why all of a sudden make the disc for Avengers 3 in 3D and exclude all of North America?

By the way, this message is really meant for any of the reps from WD or Buena Vista who often read these forums.

To Paul, the audio is EXTREMELY important, so your reply helps me make my decision as I am running a 9.3.4 4K theater. I prefer Dolby ATMOS, but DTS-7.1 MA will do as my system will upmix into the ATMOS speakers.

I kept meaning to post this but kept forgetting!

In case it’s not been posted before, if you’re interested in the filmmaking aspects of 3D you should check out the Evan Jacobs interview which was around the release of Infinity War on the 3D or 2D podcast: https://www.3dor2d.com/podcast/3dor2...or-evan-jacobs

Just watched my UK 3D Blu-ray and what can I say? Wow! Soooo good. Wonderful depth, solid spacial relationships, immersive effects, surprising pop-outs, etc.

Why does "at home" 3D always seem to top "in theater" 3D? I saw Infinity Wars in IMAX 3D and, though I really liked it, I don't recall the 3D in the theater being nearly as impressive as it is on the Blu.

This one's a keeper.
