Default Recommendations for 4k 3d projector

I need to replace my epsom 3010 projector I git about 6-7 years ago.

I would like to get a 4k/3D projector for my theater room.
Iím hoping to spend around 2k or less.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wow... 4K Budget projectors are really coming down in price, that's great to see. The Epson 3200 review is cute, saying it is big and heavy at 14lbs... clearly my experience in this range of projectors is now quite dated... the NX5 is 43lbs!!! I should get out and see some of these in action, I get asked about my theatre frequently, it would be nice to be able to make some recommendations on projectors in the $2K range.

I doubt it comes anywhere close to our NX5's though.

I can vouch for the great picture that the Benq ht3550 throws but if I had to say one gripe I have without this projector it would be the noise this thing makes.

If you haven’t already picked one up, read up on and check out the Epson 4010. I have the 4050 which is basically the same PJ but you get a mounting bracket, a better warranty, and an extra lamp. It has an incredible pic and the 3D is better then average. Beware though, it has the pixel shifting tech behind it and technically isn’t native 4k. I’ve looked at and checked out quite a few PJ’s and I can’t tell any difference at all.
I’d bet a months salary you’d be VERY hard pressed to tell any difference too.

Deep Blacks (but there’s better if you want to spend a few grand more for minimal results) sharp, bright pic set on natural and pretty spot on right out of the box. You really don’t even need to calibrate it but personally I made a few tweaks by lowerIng the brightness a tad for deeper blacks and a few other little adjustments. Very lifelike.

For the money, to me, it’s the best bang for the buck out there. Additionally, every review I’ve read rates this unit very high! It’s a great PJ.
