Looks like this will have lots of CGI eye candy, so hopefully itíll be a stunning disc.

Hopefully they'll have a 4K/3D combo.

Clinging to hope like they cling to a dyi...

Nope, nope, I'm not gonna do that in the 4K forums.

Something something they'll import it anyway.

In any case - sign me up for more Ava DuVernay! This is going to be a visual treat for sure.

They are showing this movie in 3D. Is it wrong of me to want to own it in both formats? If there's no 3D I'll get the 4K for sure but if there's both then I want both. Since you mention importing doesn't everyone import things they really want from time to time? I see you in other forums and you've imported several titles over the last month, something something

It's not wrong to want 3D, but it's probably wrong to expect it.

Available for pre-order on Best Buy.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/a-wrink...?skuId=6204589

Also listed on Amazon, but as this is a Disney release I suppose it won't be available for pre-order here.

Looks like a flop to me.

Edit: its a shame because I loved the book as a kid but the trailer looks/seems nothing like what I read. The amount of CGI in it just gives me a bad taste.

The CGI in this movie is pure trash, worst green screen I've seen lately

The movie absolutely fails to live up to the novel. They thought Technicolor CGI could make up for a lackadaisical script and ho-hum directing/acting.

Yeah, it looks super gaudy. This, and to a much lesser extent IT, were two book-adaptations I felt could have been done wonderfully with little to no CGI. Disappointing. This just looks like pure kitsch.

Haven't read the book in about 20 years but I was already worried when I saw the trailer. Looks nothing like what I remember of the book. To be fair, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I prefer when movies actually adapt their sources rather than just hamstring themselves by trying to remain completely faithful.

But apparently this is still terrible...

I'll buy it on UHD because it should be masterful HDR but yeah, the film is 50/50, some good, some bad.

There was good film in there. It shows up in bits and pieces but it’s surrounded by such a confusing (and not in a good way)execution, vaguely plotted and the worst part is they show everything in the trailer (bar one scene, maybe). That said, I’m still buying it >_>

She's right up Kathleen Kennedy's alley. I'm all for a more representative cast in Hollywood movies as it's been primarily a white man's business for far too long but messaging seems to be getting in the way of solid storytelling.
