Default UHD you feel is most underappreciated

This thread is dedicated to that one title that you always want to see bumped to the top of the forum and heaped with the praise you know it deserves, but somehow never gets. You know, that one title that you see missing in other people's UHD libraries and then you immediately dismiss them as a clueless scum slug. Well, here's your chance to spill your guts and make your case for why people should maybe take another look at that one UHD that you think is so awesome but probably really isn't that great.

For me?

[Show spoiler]Power Rangers. I'd go into greater detail about how great it is but if you really care you can just go to the PR thread and read my posts since I'm just about the only person who likes it.

[Show spoiler]Also, feel free to follow my example and hide your choice behind spoiler tags to heighten the drama.

Westworld. I don't think it should be considered among the best, but I feel like it doesn't get the credit it deserves. There's a considerable increase in dynamic range, depth, and color texture & density on the UHD.

The Revenant, Pineapple Express, Prometheus, Independence Day, Kingsman, and The Martian. None of those releases came with slipcovers, but they're all incredible movies, I swear!

I feel the same way! It's a fun movie, but the video/audio is UNBELIEVABLE. It was the first movie I watched on my TV and even 65+ UHDs later it's still in my top 3. Great demo disk, never fails to wow. Crossing my fingers they make a sequel.

I'm actually kinda surprised that
[Show spoiler]Ghost in the Shell
is so trashed around here for its PQ. Personally, I think it's a gorgeous disk. Sharp, defined, excellent colors. And I've never experienced any black crush with it. I just wish it was in Dolby Vision.

I'm also quite fond of
[Show spoiler]Batman V Superman
and
[Show spoiler]TASM 1 & 2
, the CG in those movies look outstanding in UHD. There's' a great tactile realness to it.

On the other side of the spectrum, I'm kinda surprised by the overwhelming praise of
[Show spoiler]Dunkirk's
PQ. I've only watched it once, but I was disappointed with the image. It looked soft to me.

San Andreas. Not saying it's the UHD to end all UHDs but it smashes the Blu-ray.

For me:

[Show spoiler]The Dark Tower. This movie looks fantastic on UHD and is a stunning movie. My second favorite of the year. There have been many complaints of the movie not following the books and just doing a butcher's job, as well as comments on how those who DO like the movie haven't read the books. Not true at all. I read all the main books that have been put out except for The Wind Through the Keyhole (I have it, but have not yet read it) and I have even read a tie-in book. That said, this movie does follow the books rather well while updating things for a movie audience. One of the biggest complaints people had was that they should've just done a straight-up adaption of the first book. I had read the Gunslinger again around the time the movie came out and I can tell you a straight up adaption of the first book would not work at all and I doubt it would get released. And even if it did it would've made less than this version that came out did. That doesn't mean to say I don't like the first book at all.

What I am saying is that there had to be some major changes to the story for the movie to work, as the first book does things a movie audience would not appreciate or like. In fact, there are some Stephen King fans out there who read the first book and hated it. Thus not reading another in the series at all. So what the movie does is genius in capturing the essence of the story as a whole (through all 8 books) and bringing that to the screen. On the surface, there isn't much to The Dark Tower (movie), but upon further reflection, you see there a lot to chew on and really has a lot to say. If you haven't read the books it might be lost on you. Hell, it was lost on a lot of those who had read the books. The acting is top notch and the transfer is terrific. Not your average movie/book adaption. This one comes highly recommended.

Interstellar.

It's in my top five. It's just spectacular on the OLED. I love how it looks when the ship is flying through space and on the planet with the ice clouds.

The Bourne Supremacy.

Nice little upgrade over the Blu-ray and definitely the best looking 4K out of all Bourne movies.

Definitely X-Men Apocalypse. It’s the best looking 4K movie I’ve seen and I rarely ever see it mentioned for top 10 PQ in any discussions.

Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life 4K, I was shocked how good it looked (after the 1st movie).

For me the first one looked a bit harsh and pale, so the second was a huge improvement.

I'm going to go for
[Show spoiler]The Incredibles.

I thought this looked absolutely fantastic when I sat down with my family to watch it recently, and my kids keep wanting me to put it back on. Not only is it a great movie, it's also gorgeous to look at, and (although I know Disney audio is a 'thing' and a lot of people on here slagged it off) I think the sound is awesome too.

Man of Steel

Its an incredible disc all around. And the opening on Krypton is my go-to 'this is what HDR is' demonstration

underappreciated on here? or underappreciated by the general public?

because those are two very different conversations. I think many of our hardcore members on here also have a much better grasp on most of the under-the-radar UHD gems.

I'm going to assume its the former, so I guess we're going to go to Inception dream level 2 of underappreciation!
