Wow, I just released this release is BARE BONES.

Special features: Trailer, Teaser.

Really? When's the last time a movie came with such little extras?

They might be figuring out that the packaging is what people care about the most with their releases--not what's on the disc.

Not all movies have an in-depth documentary. Many don't have deleted scenes or a blooper reel to add to their bluray release. This probably isn't Plain's fault. The extra footage just doesn't exist.

Delayed by a week due to audio issues so they're re-pressing the discs

Is "Plain Archive Exclusive" referring to the fact that there won't be another Blu-ray release? Thinking about picking this up.

Plain Archive Exclusive refers to this release being designed by them and just sold on their site (for international customers). There probably won't be any other companies releasing it in Korea either.

There is a US version of this movie coming out on April 25th through Grasshopper Film. That can be found here:

Watched my copy tonight. A very good, but very slow film. The majority of the film is a series of very long takes in a handful of locations with a stationary camera that occasionally zooms in for emphasis. Lots of characters making small talk, drinking, and smoking. It's sort of like a Korean Before Sunrise with a dash of
[Show spoiler]Groundhog Day
. I enjoyed it, but it's definitely not gonna be for everyone. DON'T read the included book until after you've watched the film unless you want major spoilers!

Director Hong Sang-soo reportedly fell in love with the actress in this movie, Kim Min-hee (who is also in Park Chan-wook's The Handmaiden), and left his wife of 30 years for her. Right Now, Wrong Then is about a director of art house films (played by Jung Jae-young) who falls for a younger woman (played by Kim). Hong's wife said she knew about the affair when she watched the movie. It would seem that Jung's character is really a stand-in for director Hong. Not really sure how I feel about this, but apparently the scandal has completely overshadowed the film in South Korea, while reviewers in the West aren't even bringing it up. Hopefully it doesn't ruin Kim's career, as I thought she was great in this and The Handmaiden.

I just went and read some articles on this and a couple were dated June 2016, so this isn't that new. I didn't know about it though. I checked IMDb and she has On the Beach at Night Alone coming out next month in Korea which is directed by Hong Sang-Soo. Then two more movies directed by him after that. He'll keep her career alive at least.

I watched The Handmaiden yesterday and really liked it. Like it might be one of my favorite movies of 2016. I haven't watched Right now, Wrong Then yet, but I got my copy sitting at home.

lol the IMDB synopsis for On the Beach:

An actress wanders around a seaside town, pondering her relationship with a married man.

Apologies for dredging up an old thread, but can anyone comment on how the picture quality on this compared to that on the Grasshopper Films release?

I see the Plain Archive edition is on a BD25, which seems a little disappointing (even if it is barebones).
