My guess if the rumor is true, is a set of new PS5 plate covers will be $29.99 to $39.99 for a new color. That's expensive, and 19.99 would be a lot better of a deal when they eventually go on sale. One could always remove the plates, and spray paint them for under $5 if they really wanted a new color right away at a bargain price. The finish would be the challenge, making sure not to have the spray too close to the plate, for a smoother result.

Yeah, same. I've honestly not liked the PS3s as well with the curved case. I like to be able to do horizontally and allow stacking. At least the PS4 had this.

I honestly wish they were standard AV component size. Rack mountable.

I will most likely keep as is.It will be hidden anyways.

But, let's be serious, obviously the white sides need to be separate pieces, so I don't see supposed pics from the factory as indicating Sony is planning custom/alternate pieces.

Also since there should be a bay for a second internal SSD the white side might be easily removable to slip in that second SSD

If the PS5 does have customizable plates, then the surface directly underneath those plates would have to protect the internal components of the console to the point that some players might want to play the console without the plates even attached.

The concern then would be dust for the sake of more ventilation without the plates attached.

I don't see why that would be necessary. I can easily slide off the side panels of my computer tower and the insides are not in a separate box.

You know what? On second thought maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to make the blades removable. There are a lot of gorilla-handed morons out there that would probably not do it properly and break them in the process.

I dont like that. It makes it look cheap and unnecessarily bulky

Honestly, IF they can make the outer shell customisable by making it replaceable, and user friendly to do so, that would help get a lot of social media traction for people showing off their customisation skills.

What would be cool is if Sony offered up a website you could go to and design your own custom blades and order them directly from Sony, similar with how MS does with their controllers.

I do agree. MS did that and had some really cool official designs. Like imagine you could officially buy a licenced version of your favourite PlayStation IPs knowing the quality of the shell is guaranteed and actually official so no fitment issues.

My wish would be for a Spider-Man, God of War etc. version BUT they could also have 3rd party collaborations. I would LOVE an option if it was available to change the colour of the LED light from the Blue we have seen to match our customisable shells. Assuming it's even a feature.

There is a reason that the shell is shaped the way it is. It helps direct airflow. Itís not just cosmetic.
