The Korean release of DMII is still around on ebay and is the same Warner disc as the HK.

Having bought some Eureka and 88 Films BDs recently to replace my DVDs, I'm looking to pick up some other JC BDs but wanted to check which versions are generally considered to be the best for:

• Police Story 3
• Winners and Sinners
• My Lucky Stars
• Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars
• Mr Nice Guy
• Gorgeous

Original soundtracks with English subtitles, where relevant, are a must. I can't stand dubs.

I was looking at these versions for Police Story 3, the Lucky Stars trilogy and Gorgeous.

Are these decent versions to buy and what about Mr Nice Guy?

The Kam & Ronson HK Police Story 3 disc is probably the best so far. The Warner Archives U.S. of Mr. Nice Guy is pretty great. Gorgeous doesn't have a BD release, I don't think. Not a legit one anyway.

Gorgeous has a Blu-ray in Hong Kong which I’ve been meaning to pick up. The old DVD was non-anamorphic.

But the R1 DVD was edited and removed the Stephen Chow cameo while the R3 DVD is uncut. But the R3 disc is non-anamorphic as I said.

The Warner Archive Collection release of Mr. Nice Guy is worth buying. If it sells well, we might get similar releases of Rumble and First Strike from WAC, with both original and New Line cuts.

Yes I do, not great looking by any means, but a definite upgrade over the DVD.

Been on my 'to buy' list for a while but waiting for one to show up reasonably priced on eBay. The Hong Kong Blu-ray is fully uncut and remastered too so is the one to get. I really like the film, has some great fight scenes!

Yeah I own it. It’s an oldish looking transfer but not horrendous or anything

Drunken Master II has a new listing on Vudu and Amazon. I got it on Vudu and it is an English dub only, not the Miramax dub. It also does have the original ending but there is no audio period because the dub doesn’t go that far. You do get the start of the music cue for the end title music about five seconds before the credits start.

And no, turning on closed captioned subtitles does not help. There simply aren’t any captions for the ending either.

I remember seeing it on Xfinity On Demand as well. Does this mean that Warner owns the rights to this in the U.S? Because, Miramax only had the rights to the Legend of Drunken Master cut.

There's a new version from Eureka Entertainment that just got announced today. I've never heard of these films until today. lol. I'm not sure if/how it differs from the version you shared a couple posts back.

Just an FYI incase you hadn't seen it (this Eureka set is Region B, though).
