The Game Shack (Used) in Toronto at the Yonge & Dundas Atrium Mall
Sonic Boom in Toronto (New & Used) in Toronto at Queen & Spadina (Criterion, Shout, etc)
http://sonicboommusic.com/

Both are expensive. I asked at Sonic how much they pay for blu-ray and they told me 'disc media is not worth much' and I wondered then why their used is expensive and the new is outrageously priced...

Boy I miss Hmv.

I saw some blu-ray titles at AnimeXtreme a few months back. The location is at Spadina and Dundas in Toronto. Prices are high however.

BMV books pays decent prices for discs, but they are very selective. They won't buy some titles because they are too common.

GTA
Eyesore Cinema on Bloor St http://www.eyesorecinema.com/
Movie Experts in Whitby http://www.movieexperts.ca/

And don't forget your local Walmarts. All have the cheap DVD dump bin but many have the bluray one as well.

The Dundas and Lansdowne No Frills store in Toronto has a rack of blu-rays priced $5 and $10 in the front of the 'dollar' section, some are PVs.

The titles are same I have seen at Dollarama and Giant Tiger.

Heads up that BeatGoesOn is celebrating their 26th Anniversary this weekend (Aug 19-20) All used DVDs, Blu-rays, and UHDs are 40% off. So go online and make your in-store pickup now as they will hang onto your order for 7 days.

Getting my Planet Earth 2 and Power Rangers UHDs for roughly $40 when all is said and done.

I'll be there in a months time. Thanks for this list. Have there been any changes or additions in that time ?

Also what is Vancouver like for physical media ?

Almost non-existent...the only place you can buy Blu-rays nowadays is from either Best Buy or London Drugs. Unless somebody can tell me other places that carry more inventory, I usually just order online for more obscure titles and the mainstream ones from either of those two stores.

There's Videomatica on 4th

https://videomaticasales.wordpress.com/

Sunrise Records in a couple suburban malls (Metrotown etc) and C&L Internet Club (http://www.thecnl.com) but C&L is more a specialty etailer with a "retail" presence and not so competitive pricing.

For new in the Greater Vancouver area, there's

Best Buy (sad selection at most locations, especially Richmond)

London Drugs

Sunrise Records (Good selection & some good prices)

Wal-Mart (selection varies)

C&L Internet Club - all prices are MSRP - no deals but they do have a very thorough selection.

Used is basically;

pawn shops

thrift stores

Lely's Books at Kingsgate Mall - If you want to pay $8 for a used Full Screen version of Ocean's Eleven, you've found your place!

Willow Video in Langley/Abbotsford

If you guys have Half Price up there, check that out, too. If not, https://www.hpb.com/ is their website.

Revival Records in Calgary moved.. Haven't been over there since. The Goodwill locations around town sometimes have some decent DVD finds.

I went to Bay St. Video in Toronto earlier today, and was absolutely shocked at some of the prices. Titles that I've seen for $10 elsewhere selling for $25 or more at BSV. Having said that, they have a lot of imports, a lot of Kino Lorber titles, a lot of Vinegar Syndrome titles, some Shout Factory titles, and even a few Warner Archive titles.

If you live in Toronto and want those more obscure titles but don't like ordering them online, BSV probably has them.
