[18+] Hentai Releases

I only go for vanilla hentai, so that second title, Anata Dake Konbanwa, is the only one of those three that are of any interest to me.

So here's a long-winded question for all of you here that are more knowledgeable and interested in all things anime related (at least more than myself):

I just started catching up with purchasing more Blu-ray releases recently in hopes of eventually owning all of the hentai titles available on the format here in the US.

However, while looking back through all of my old notes and checklists, I couldn't help but notice a number of Blu-rays that I didn't pick up because I was unfamiliar with the labels that released them or even more unsure if the titles themselves truly qualified as hentai or not.

So hopefully this is where you anime experts can chime in and educate me in detail if any of the following releases that I list here should be considered as hentai or not. (Therefore it can be determined if I should buy them at some point for the collection or not.) And for the record: don't worry about prices or meeting standards regarding my own personal tastes because I have no budget limitations and no taste either!:

1. Ladies Versus Butlers Undressed (2010) [Kitty Media / Media Blasters]
2. Interspecies Reviewers (2020) [Critical Mass Video]
3. The Titan’s Bride (2020) [Ascendent Animation]
4. Redo Of Healer (2021) [Maiden Japan]
5. Mother Of The Goddess’ Dormitory (2021) [Sentai Filmworks]
6. Dai-Shogun Great Revolution (2014) [Sentai Fimworks]
7. Fire In His Finger Tips My Childhood Friend Is A Fireman (2019) [Ascendent Animation]
8. Fire In His Fingertips 2 My Boyfriend Is A Fireman (2021) [Ascendent Animation]

Again, I'm not really an "anime guy" so I apologize in advance if these are stupid questions or completely random titles to even ask about. If there are any other titles that I didn't list that should be noted, please feel free to name and explain them!

I only mentioned the above because they have either been released on Blu-ray by a label that specializes in hentai, they have something like "absolutely not for children"/"18+"/"Uncensored & Uncut" printed on their packaging, or were at one point listed on Right Stuf's "adult section" before they completely got rid of it.

I'm not sure if any of these are really hentai releases or not but maybe something equivalent to the old softcore skin-flicks they showed late at night on HBO/Showtime in the past or perhaps a film rated NC-17 instead? Clearly they had to be something in order for Right Stuf to drop them in the "adult section" back in the day right?

Again, I have no hesitations or personal preferences regarding content because overall I'm fascinated by hentai on a more scholarly/academic level as a film genre to study as a whole. Plus, as a completist and archivist, I'd like to own everything I can possibly add to my 4K/Blu-ray collection that fits within the realms of my favorite film sub-genres.

Here's a quick breakdown as far as I know.

Pretty standard fanservice shows with plenty of T&A, but not hentai:

The "Ladies Versus Butlers Undressed" has some racy striptease segments as bonus features, but no actual sex scenes.

Fanservicey T&A shows with lots of sex going on - definitely a step beyond the previous three - but not actually hentai:

1. Interspecies Reviewers (2020) [Critical Mass Video]
2. Redo Of Healer (2021) [Maiden Japan]

Not familiar with the Ascendant Animation titles, so I can't say one way or another on those.

It's just one of the things that happened when Crunchyroll bought them..

If those rating changes bleed over onto other retail sites because of it

I get the impression that the Ascendent Animation releases may be in a similar category as the rest of these unless anyone else can confirm otherwise.

Typical. I had my suspicions as such but I can honestly never tell if a film I haven't already seen is truly extreme, vulgar, violent, for "adults only", or whatever.
It definitely seems that most people's criteria is stricter or perhaps less tolerant than my own, at least nowadays.
I'm always reading or being told something like "this movie is super hardcore, it's not for the squeamish" or "this band has very offensive lyrics, don't listen to them".
Then when I actually check those things out for myself, I'm always left disappointed and confused with their assessment.
All I can usually respond with is: "Dude, you really think this is THAT bad? You should watch/listen to THIS... "
What can I say, I guess I've just become (completely) desensitized by my decades-long (over)consumption of horror/exploitation films and metal/punk music?

I'd say, of the ones I know, Redo is the closest to actual hentai, it shows everything except actual penetration. Interspecies Reviewers is next closest.
And not sure if you looked into these beyond the title but just so you know Titan's Bride is yaoi.

I recently watched 'Cleavage' and really enjoyed it. I liked the character design and there was a lot of animation (as opposed to panning over static images or a few frames being choppily repeated). There is a DVD of this, but no bluray.

I also watched 'Resort Boin' because of the recommendation on here. This was really nice too. So thanks.

Hope we get these on bluray.

I would have to say that Resort Boin is my most favorite 18+ title, but I don't even own it on DVD at all, just a download. I need to find a "hard" copy for my collection.

I'm big time in love with the surfer girl with the little twin pigtails in front and the awesome tan lines, but there are just so many good scenes in that show, whether she is in them or not.

After conducting some extensive research on "Invisible Person" films, I guess I'll be waiting for a Blu-ray release of The Invisible Stud (2006) to add to my collection.
I'm sure it will look great sitting on the shelf among such films as The Invisible Man (1933), The Invisible Man Appears (1949), The Invisible Maniac (1990), etc., etc....

There is also an Invisible Stud 2, make sure you get both releases. I do like the different drawing style for the characters in that series.

Just a heads up for anyone that's interested:

Adult Source Media's latest Blu-ray release of Night Shift Nurses Kranke (2005) appears to be an actual "pressed" Blu-ray disc instead of a "BD-R" disc like the 2 previous releases from this label.

I haven't watched it yet so I can not describe or confirm anything relating to the image/audio quality of the content. (Sorry, just too busy at the moment and have a ton of other Blu-ray releases I need to catch up on viewing first!)

I picked up BWBODDY's copy after he bought and watch it. I haven't watched it yet myself, but it definitely is a pressed disc. I have seen the episodes online before, and I don't really care for that creepy professor dude. This series is borderline for falling into the "Ugly Men" category of hentai which I don't care for at all.

Also, should have mentioned it a while ago, but I recently learned the AnimeFesta shorts that Ascendent Animation distributes, the "uncut" versions are considered hentai, but they've reportedly been using censored Japanese mosaic masters, which for some may be a complete dealbreaker. Supposedly raw versions don't exist for those however.

[Edit]I've added to the OP incomplete releases (copied from my MAL blog post), this includes one VHS-only title (First Loves). This excludes sequels, prequels and such. I've also added Fairy Corporation (AVBOX), JapanX (label of Hustler Video), and JBOX to the list of companies that released things, though they don't yet have entries in the database.
