Looks like the big 3 have broken street dates for The Super Mario Bros. and John Wick 4 (here). Interesting in: “Best Buy’s 4K Steelbook for John Wick: Chapter 4 is already listed as sold out.” John Wick 4 will be a rare blind buy for me.

The baby boomer generation are people born between 1946 and 1964, so that currently places them between the ages of 59 and 77 years old, a high percentage of people in that generation won’t be a live in another 20-30 years, they will pass much sooner than that.

We also have my generation (gen X) who have to die off first. Something the article failed to acknowledge. I know a shit load of people my age who still watch DVD (only a handful who watch 4K discs like myself.) Last edited by Steedeel; 06-09-2023 at 11:47 PM. |

I was not sure what you were referencing until I did a search. What a great set you guys are getting in the UK! Stateside, it's just a steelbook exclusive via GRUV.com I'll probably get it. Amazon UK had this giant set reminiscent of the Jaws set they had a few weeks ago. It quickly sold out there, too.

I see peopole have been discussing the Apple AR/VR
I think we can all agree that 1) even if we assume this is better then the rest such technology has been around for a while by other companies so in that sense nothing new 2) since others have neen doing it for a while there are usage for it and people that will buy it for those uses. 3) there might be reasons someone will pick this to watch a film (i.e. when I used to travel a lot I used to watch films on my laptop in the planes, if it was an option and I had one I think it would give a better experience then the laptop so I would use this) That being said when I got a 3D projector I bought 6 glasses to go with it, thinking one day I might buy more so we can watch with more guests. I never did and since then 2 of the glasses have stopped working and I have not bothered replacing them (not enough content and we can just watch 2D when thre are more than 4 of us watching. so here is my 2 cents Do I think the guy that bought his last TV at 350$ on black Friday will go out and buy one of these for each member of his home to replace the TV? Not really On the other hand of the spectrum do I think that the guy that built a nice HT so he, family and friends can enjoy a top presentation will go out and buy a bunch of these things to replace his projector? not really Do I think if someone has one at hand might they use it occasionaly under specific scenarios to watch a film at their home as well? yes, why not. Now as for films being shot and seen in 180. I think many games can benefit from 360. where you choose to look in the direction you want to look into. But but the central 30 is where you see the best and detail, 60 is where you see well, 120 you have your normal peripheral view, anything past that is monocular and mostly good for picking up big movement. that is where a person says "I think I saw something" and turns they turn their head to really see what it was that they thought they saw. So even if these glasses can show 180 (did not ready anywhere that they can) it would be useless for films, since directors won't want to throw away most of the screen (i.e. if I move my eye balls to look at my left 0-30 or right 150-180 the person won't be able to see the right (or left) 1/2 of the screen. 3 |

It is a stupid premise because with many of the stuff in the list and ph\ysical media in particular I know many young people that care. that being said the title is "10 Things That Will Cease to Exist When Boomers Are Gone" and not "10 Things That Will Cease to Exist When most Boomers Are Gone" that would have to be taken as the last one is gone because boomers won't be gone before the last one is gone. |

As was I... I've actually been somewhat useful in helping him put together his last 3 rigs even with my diminishing mental faculties...lol... It still never ceases to amaze me how plug and play everything is now... I can feel him rolling his eyes every time we put together a computer and i regale him with stories about how much harder it was back in the day configuring IRQs and solving port incompatibilities pre internet when all you were armed with was old copies of computer magazines... many of which were from your side of the pond... Anyways, it looks like our next project will be building a pretty decent HTPC out of the reclaimed parts of his last rig.. |
