After Daniel Craig finishes his 3-film run as James Bond...

Who do you think should take over as 007 in the near future since it was reported that Daniel Craig has only signed on for three James Bond films?

To me, my money's on Clive Owen all the way!

Clive Owen already turned it down, I heard, before they offered it to Craig. I thought he'd be perfect at the time too, but he doesn't want it. Craig is better than I thought he'd be too. He could easily do more than 3 if they continue their success.

That doesn't rake in the money. To movie studios, franchises like James Bond, are always the safe bet since they can hardly ever run dry and a steady stream of money is always brought in from them.

I want Daniel Craig to stay for more James Bond films. He does did a good job with Casino Royale.

Actually Owen has stated in numerous interviews that he was never contacted about being Bond. Craig was actually Barbara Broccoli's (co-producer) from day one. Michael G Wilson and Sony wanted to look at more people. Craig's name first came up almost a year before he was announced as Bond. Hugh Jackman was also never offered (he did say in an interview that he would take it if offered) because Barbara Broccoli thought he looked too fey (and they cast Brosnan???).

Craig was one of four actors actually screentested for the role, one other one was a young actor named Henry Cavhill (The Tudors). He apparently was the runner up to Craig but in his early 20s so a bit too young. Chances are good, unless someone new pops up, he could be Bond after Craig. All the other names mentioned right now will be far too old by the time Craig is done. He is contraced for 3 movies with options on more.

Quantum of Solace opens November 7th and is being directed by Mark Forester (Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, Stranger than Fiction).
