They must have upgraded. I watched it about eight months ago, and it looked terrible. I am also looking forward to this release, but I will check Amazon presentation again. Thanks.

Update:Yes, what's up now is definitely better than what I saw. A great improvement.

I know of the movie but never got around to seeing it, I'm sure VS will do a great job but there's so much stuff coming in October not sure if I'll have the money to buy it.

Yeah, I wound up buying the HD copy for $7.99, because it looked so good.

They also have a beautiful HD copy of Halloween for $9.99.

Official announcement!

https://vinegarsyndrome.com/shop/the-incubus-slipcover/

Quote:
A quiet New England town becomes the site of a grisly murder and assault, leaving a young man dead and his girlfriend in critical condition. Sam Cordell, head surgeon and medical examiner at the local hospital, senses something isn’t quite normal about the attacker, but barely a day later, another woman is savagely assaulted and killed. With the realization that a maniac is on the loose, Sam, with the help of police chief Hank Walden and newspaper columnist Laura Kincaid, must unravel the mystery before additional murders occur, all the while unaware that Sam’s own daughter, Jenny, might be next on the victim list…

An intense and disturbing supernatural slasher, John Hough’s (LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, AMERICAN GOTHIC) THE INCUBUS stars acclaimed actor and filmmaker John Cassavetes (A WOMAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE), John Ireland (THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME) and Kerrie Keane (SPASMS) in her feature film debut. Stylishly photographed by Albert J. Dunk (CLASS OF 1984) and scored by Stanley Meyers (THE DEER HUNTER), Vinegar Syndrome brings this 80s terror classic to Blu-ray for the first time.

Directed by: John Hough
1981 / 92 minutes / Color / 1.85:1 OAR
Cast: John Cassavetes, John Ireland, Kerrie Keane, Helen Hughes

So, a newbie to this film, but I'm a fan of Vinegar Syndrome, and bought Demon Wind, which I enjoyed thoroughly...

In what vein is this film? And, I have to add, as a gore-hound, is there plenty of it in this one?

Thanks in advance!

Not so much gore. More of a very ominous atmosphere, a convoluted plot and lots of suspense , descriptions of the "mysterious" rapes and some really unexpected twists for first-timers.

There is some gore, but it's not overly done. It's a fun movie, very well done, given the budget. Lot of creepy atmosphere and a great score. Although I found the ending shocking, though really different from the novel.

Another pretty good 80s movie The Wolfen, suffered a little in it's climax, due to severe changes from the source novel.

It should be said that Erin Noble a.k.a. Erin Flannery, who plays Cassavetes' daughter, is one of the foxiest women I've ever seen in film. Some may disagree, but my crush on her from that era rages on. THE INCUBUS showcases that body as well. I don't usually go out of my way to comment on such things, but I'll make an exception for Erin. Can't wait to see her shower scene in HD.

She's cute in this movie, but her eyebrows are scarier than the Incubus! I've seen pics of her recently, she is an attractive woman. Has aged very well.

Here she is on Modern Family:

Never minded her eyebrows, but when THE INCUBUS Blu-Ray comes out I'll have to give them a fresh evaluation.

Didn't see that episode of MODERN FAMILY. You're right, she looks great.

Never seen this, but I feel I need to add both Incubus and Blood Harvest to my collection. (Why doesn't Blood Harvest have a forum yet?)

Curious about the VS description - it says "its 35mm negative" rather than "a 35mm internegative" - did they find most of the OCN or is the article correct in that the neg is still missing but they managed to put it together from an IN and a print?

This question was asked in the facebook group and got a response from Lee Jones (one of the fine folks at VS), it's from the Internegative. Lee Jones - "IN and one reel from print."

Is this the slasher movie with a big name VS was teasing, or is there still another announcement coming?
