Great news for the US guys but this could backfire on the UK buyers.
A Facebook user asked on the Arrow page what would happen if they didn't get the rights to release a specific title in the US.....they probably would ditch the UK release.
Great!!!!!!

It's always good to bring a new studio into the fold, but I get the feeling that Arrow US will just be getting titles that studios like SF pass on (which may or may not be a good thing).

Quick updates (via the official Arrow's UK thread):

Wow - this is probably some of the biggest news all year.

They have a rather impressive catalogue in the UK, so I can't wait to see what is released in the U.S.

I don't think they will get second pick. They'll definitely be going after a lot of the same titles, but Arrow have been in the game long enough that they don't have to just wait around for a title to come around, they can pursue titles too.

Great news indeed! Arrow is run by true enthusiasts who think beyond just the films they release. For some of us, packaging, artwork and extras beyond standard featurettes are a big part of the fun of collecting. I'm very happy they're expanding into the US market. The question in my mind is, are they simply just going to port over their UK titles or will they compete with Shout for titles like Deadly Eyes and The Final Terror? Either way, this is an exciting development.

Imagine the possibilities ! I might need a shelf for Arrow Region A and B releases now.. or Region Free..
Lets hope they release titles that have been turned down by other studios..

I'm definitely looking forward to saving a few bucks/days wait by purchasing domestically, being able to display new art when desired without unsightly ratings logos, and having thinner BD cases (although I usually modify the UK ones to fit US cases).

There could be some cause for alarm, as this could potentially decrease possible releases in the UK, if Arrow can't obtain rights in the US. I'm sure to cut down on costs, Arrow would like to release in both regions, and if one region can't be had, it could wipe the release for the other region.

It's like if Scream Factory started selling in the UK, and if they could obtain titles in the UK, it could possibly negate the title being released in the US. I'm quite sure that would drive this forum into a full scale panic.
