7.1 speaker placement - Blu-ray Forum

im currently running 5.1 system onkyo 606 amp and changing too 7.1 . im using jbl ceiling mounts for all my surround speakers. I just want toono do the surround back and right speakers have tooo be close together or can they be apart a little room size is 6.2 meters long and three 3.3 metrse wide i just want to get it right a lot of the pics you look at are different set ups thanks for any one to help.

7.1 is really only effective if you can get the back surrounds BEHIND you. I could not tell from your pictures of your seating is against a wall or in the open.

I'm assuming you have room behind you since you say you are 6.2 meters long (approx 20 feet).

yes main seating is off the back wall a fair bit so that helps a heap thanks
