What a depressing thread.
Has anyone tried contacting Mega Star - maybe later pressings aren't affected? |

Thank you for the heads up. I was able to back up my copies of The Sniper, Vengeance, and Warlords without issue. I didn't notice any bronzing like on some of the Well Go USA disc (with a dark ring around the outer edge of the disc).
I did notice on the three titles mentioned above each had a gold/light bronze color on the bottom, but didn't have the darker ring around the outer edge. Would anyone know if this is the normal color for those disc or could it be in the early stages of bronzing? I guess it's time to back up everything. I started a google spreadsheet. Please feel free to enter your findings so we can have a comprehensive list. We may want to sticky it to the OP. Feel free to add columns you think are important/feel are missing.
I only entered my findings so far in my collection. Bronzed Asian Bluray Discs Google Spreadsheet |

Actually, my personal copy appears to be OK (I am backing it up as I type this), but back when I imported and sold discs I had multiple customers return their brand new copies because they would not play. When I checked every copy, they were all dead and bronzed. I had a stack of 14 BLADES that I just threw away (still gives me the shivers just thinking about it

Updated the spreadsheet. I have entered everything so far that has been in this thread. These are the fields/columns so far.
- Title - Distributor - Release Date - Out of Print (OOP)? - Master Code - Mould Code - Notes Last edited by FungManHin; 04-09-2019 at 06:39 PM. |

And that is a big question. I don't know... the latter may be better, don't you all think? |

I updated the spreadsheet, removing duplicate entries. I was overly thinking it and the focus should be just a single list of titles that we easily identify as being defective.
While seeing who's discs are affected is nice as it gives an idea of actual counts, it probably is not/may not be necessary for the core purpose of this list. I can reinstate those columns if we want them as I have a backup of that version. What do you guys think? Last edited by FungManHin; 04-09-2019 at 07:01 PM. |
