Am I the one person here who uses the Amazon Kindle app on my iPad?

It's almost like using an authentic Kindle.

Currently, I am reading the Bible eBook, but it gets very stale since it has no photos and videos.

I use the Kindle app on my Droid as well. Though, if I'm in the sun, I DEFINITELY use my Kindle!

Well I bought book 5 in the series I'm reading (The Hollows) and lo and behold, it was taxed. This is some BS. Now they can tax electronic items that have no substance. Ridiculous.

the Belkin kindle light is FABULOUS! It is WAY better than I expected. I really like that I had reposition the light pretty much the length of the screen. What a great product!
Thank you Ferris!

Another reason ebooks are great. Trying to read a paperback while eating lunch SUCKS, especially a meal that takes both hands. Just pushing the 'next' button on a flat reader is soooooo much easier. gotta finish up all these normal books so I can get back to using my kindle and related apps

No, I use the Kindle app on my iPad too. I never thought I'd like reading eBooks so much - it's been great. I've read a lot more books than I would have otherwise.

You are very welcome! I'm glad you love it! That means I don't have to pay you for it.

You need an account with credit card, which has an address which matches. So unless you have a US credit card linked to a friends/family house in the US you are out of luck.

Interesting... I wonder if using one of those VISA gift cards would work. They let you register it online so you can use it on internet purchases where you have to enter a billing address... so if I were to buy one of those while in the states and then register it in my name but at a friend's address, that might work.

Once I get my Kindle I'll try it for sure.

Last April 5 of the 6 main publishers forced Amazon into an agreement where the publisher sets the price rather than Amazon. So now instead of buying the book from Amazon directly they are acting as a middleman, and if that publisher has a presence in your state they will charge you tax. If the book has "This price was set by the publisher" next to it chances are you will be taxed.

I remember seeing them force the Amazon price changes, this is the first time I've been charged tax on a book though. And 4 of the 5 books that actually cost where in the same series but I've never had to pay tax before.
