Had my iPad 2 for about 3 months now and I love it. One of the best buys I've ever made. I almost had tears in my eyes I was so happy the first time I surfed the web on the can. Never thought I'd be able to surf the web while taking a shit. It's so liberating.

I am really getting annoyed with my iPad. The thing sucks when it comes to a weak wifi signal. For some reason my phone, nook, tab, and touchpad all keep the signal and don't drop it. All they might do is slow down. But my iPad and iPod both drop the Internet on a cosistant basis and it drives me mad.

Bought an ipad2 three months ago. Truly one of the best purchases i've ever made.
I didn't think i could ever use a tablet for anything useful (or that i'd be sick of this "toy" after 2 weeks). I never even touch my laptop or desktop now. |

So my gf and I recently got an iPad (the first one, not 2) for free as a gift - what can I do with it?
I'm lost when it comes to Apple tech and tablet tech. But I would like to...I dont know. Any home theater, audio, movie apps? Music stuff? Any suggestions? |

Most tv providers (Dish, DirecTV, Xfinity, etc.) have apps that will control their STBs. I use the Apple Remote app to control my iTunes collection and stream it to my HT setup. I also use it to control my AppleTVs. The YouTube app is okay. Much content is not available, I.e., VEVO, but they have their own app,, which makes up for it. Your ask is pretty broad. What exactly are you wanting to do? I am totally heeled out on the iPad, so ask away. Reply here, PM me, FB me, whatever... ![]() ![]() |

I love my iPad 2...I'm on it all the time and will probably give it to my mom once the 3rd gen comes out. My desktop and MacBook pro barely get any use now.
Pandora is great and the battery life is amazing. JJ- enjoy it..it's a great device. |

- Whole home automation - HT control - eReader, including some libraries - Portable movie viewer - TV apps - Remote computer control - Games (individual, multi-player, and role playing) - To Do List - Document, spreadsheet, and presentation creation (Although not complex versions of each) - Note taking - Educational apps, including eTextbooks - Banking - Insurance - Music player - Real-time (or near real-time) news feeds - Photography apps - Restaurant apps - Shopping apps - Social Networking - Sports apps - Travel apps (I use traffic and GPS apps A LOT) - Weather (my oldest son LOVES the various weather apps) I'm sure your needs may be different than mine, but those are some of the things possible, as well as how I use mine. I probably use mine on average 6 hours per day. Not sure if this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions. |

I am rarely in locations with public wi-fi (same with my wife), so we each have the 64GB 3G+Wi-Fi models. |

With the iPhone 4S coming out with a 64GB. Will the iPad 3 follow?
With Apple pushing it's iCloud. Will I be able to store my music and digital copies on there or will I have to continue using HD space? |

Fom what I have read, it is not streaming the media just storing it in the cloud. You will still need to download it to the iDevice in order to play. Last edited by Hammie; 10-06-2011 at 11:00 PM. |
