LeAnn told me rumors that the iPad 3 going sell for maybe $299 with an AT&T plan? Could be a good idea for next year since she's looking at one.

Had my iPad 2 for about 3 months now and I love it. One of the best buys I've ever made. I almost had tears in my eyes I was so happy the first time I surfed the web on the can. Never thought I'd be able to surf the web while taking a shit. It's so liberating.

I am really getting annoyed with my iPad. The thing sucks when it comes to a weak wifi signal. For some reason my phone, nook, tab, and touchpad all keep the signal and don't drop it. All they might do is slow down. But my iPad and iPod both drop the Internet on a cosistant basis and it drives me mad. I have to go into settings and click my wifi again and it comes on then I go to safari and it drops again. Then as soon as I leave safari it comes back. I don't know what it is but my Apple products need consistent good wifi while my other things don't.

Ordered an iPad case from Monoprice for $6.XX. It's perfect. Don't buy one of those "smart covers".

Bought an ipad2 three months ago. Truly one of the best purchases i've ever made.

I didn't think i could ever use a tablet for anything useful (or that i'd be sick of this "toy" after 2 weeks). I never even touch my laptop or desktop now.

I haven't had an issue with Apple's WiFi on my iJesusPhone. I've had my Nook drop Wifi when it goes into sleep mode, but it's supposed to happen.

Slightly O/T, but what Nook do you have, and if it's a colour, did you Root it?

So my gf and I recently got an iPad (the first one, not 2) for free as a gift - what can I do with it?

I'm lost when it comes to Apple tech and tablet tech. But I would like to...I dont know. Any home theater, audio, movie apps? Music stuff? Any suggestions?

Most of the major networks have apps for their networks.

Most tv providers (Dish, DirecTV, Xfinity, etc.) have apps that will control their STBs.

I use the Apple Remote app to control my iTunes collection and stream it to my HT setup. I also use it to control my AppleTVs.

The YouTube app is okay. Much content is not available, I.e., VEVO, but they have their own app,, which makes up for it.

Your ask is pretty broad. What exactly are you wanting to do? I am totally heeled out on the iPad, so ask away. Reply here, PM me, FB me, whatever...

I love my iPad 2...I'm on it all the time and will probably give it to my mom once the 3rd gen comes out. My desktop and MacBook pro barely get any use now.

Pandora is great and the battery life is amazing.

JJ- enjoy it..it's a great device.

Depending on what you want to get out of it, there are tons of possibilities.

- Whole home automation
- HT control
- eReader, including some libraries
- Portable movie viewer
- TV apps
- Remote computer control
- Games (individual, multi-player, and role playing)
- To Do List
- Document, spreadsheet, and presentation creation (Although not complex versions of each)
- Note taking
- Educational apps, including eTextbooks
- Banking
- Insurance
- Music player
- Real-time (or near real-time) news feeds
- Photography apps
- Restaurant apps
- Shopping apps
- Social Networking
- Sports apps
- Travel apps (I use traffic and GPS apps A LOT)
- Weather (my oldest son LOVES the various weather apps)

I'm sure your needs may be different than mine, but those are some of the things possible, as well as how I use mine. I probably use mine on average 6 hours per day.

Not sure if this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions.

I guess the most important question would be how often is not around wi-fi?

I am rarely in locations with public wi-fi (same with my wife), so we each have the 64GB 3G+Wi-Fi models.

That's what I was thinking. For the most part, I think my wifi at home sucks..I'm not sure if I'm running the wifi right(only been about 2 years) but the signal sometimes is weak.We both tend to use the 3g on our iphones so that's why i want it on the ipad.she's worried about how much the plan is with AT&T.I still have to check in with that.Thinking of getting the 16gig as she doesn't put music on it.

With the iPhone 4S coming out with a 64GB. Will the iPad 3 follow?

With Apple pushing it's iCloud. Will I be able to store my music and digital copies on there or will I have to continue using HD space?

Next iPad will be March/April timeframe. I doubt it will be sooner. Not sure about the 64GB version, but I would love to have one with that much space. Even a 128GB would be of interest.

Fom what I have read, it is not streaming the media just storing it in the cloud. You will still need to download it to the iDevice in order to play.

So basically, just go into iTunes. Do the normal process by downloading a digital copy or import a CD and just skip the sync in iTunes and just get your media via wirelessly from iCloud?

I knew I should of bought an iPad instead.
