Think I'm going to get one. Lack of webcame for Skype etc. was the main reason I didn't pick up a first gen (my girlfriend has one).

Anyone know what time the online sales will start on the 11th? Right not it just says on the 11th, but not if it's midnight (and which timezone) or 5 pm when sales start in stores etc. I don't really feel like waiting in line, but may change my mind on that and just show up at 3pm and see if I get one. My girlfriend got hers on launch just stopping by late in the day when there was no line anymore. Not sure if they'll have as much stock this time.

I know Pikachu. The Pokemon franchise has almost as good a marketing campaign as Apple.

We stopped at GameStop to get the free character gift today... Celebi. There is another one that comes out Monday apparently.

None. We went in the store. They turn on the DS, they go to the receive a gift screen, choose over wireless, a message says a free gift is available, accept it, takes about 20-30 seconds to download and then you can leave. The kids then go to some master to get the gift imported, but that can be done after leaving the store.

Celebri (which is apparently rare and only available during these events) ends tomorrow. The one next week is also a rare one, as far as I am told.

Most of the time I just go along with it. If I don't feel like doing something, I sometimes say it is a trick and a fraud.

Just Apple I'd guess. I'd be surprised if places like Best Buy, Target and Wal-mart had any online stock at launch. I'd think they'd want all their units in their retail stores for launch.

My guess on color is they probably made a lot more Black ones than White ones, so White may only be at the Apple Store and website for a while.

I just got off the phone with a Target store near me. They still haven't received word if they will have them this Friday. Why would Target let all these sales slip thru their fingers by not stocking them on launch day?

Not like they have control over when Apple sends them to them.

I took the kids to get Celebi yesterday. It was actually very painless.

I'd imagine for all the chains it may vary on whether they get their shipments on Friday or not. Just a matter of what time deliveries arrive, when Apple shipped them out etc.

My guess is towns with no Apple store will definitely have them (as that's the only way to sell them there), while cities with Apple stores may not (or may have fewer) as Apple probably sends most stock in those towns to their own stores first.

If you have an Apple store, I'd go there as they'll have the most stock and thus you're most likely to get the model and color you want, case color you want etc. Of if you don't have to have it right away just order online from Apple and not worry about lines etc.
