They have a week-long sale on all Discotek titles right before their Birthday Sale (around mid June) and another week-long sale before their Holiday sale (week before Black Friday). They also do daily-deals on Discotek titles during the last couple of weeks during their Birthday and Black Friday sales.

I know there’s a very low chance of them getting these but Monster and Saint Seiya I’d pay good money for all of, including all of Saint Seiya’s many spin-offs. Odds are low I know. Also I know they said Monster did sell well for Viz. I’d also want Maison Ikkoku to go with more Rumiko Takahashi stuff.

They already gave Saint seiya a shot. The sales were poor so thats over now.

Monster sold poorly for Viz. Otherwise we would have gotten all of it on disc. Maison Ikkoku is in licensing hell.

Any plans to update the official Youtube channel? Looks like the last upload was 4 years ago.

Twitter and Twitch are great but more casual viewers might discover Discotek Blu-rays with trailers even if it's the simple Sentai approach of just uploading the opening credits, though there are some originals cuts like the Lupin III Episode 0 First Contact trailer.

If the bossman lost the login could always make a new channel just for BD promos/trailers.

In addition, they had to deal with completely unrealistic expectations from Japan.

Monster question at Viz panel Q&A @ Fanime. "trigger-y subject". Due to mangaka's status, too many DVDs would have had to been printed, and that would have been "financially crushing".

Also the heat they got from fans over the rearranged score in both versions which wasn't their fault.

I still feel like if we ever get a bluray release of Monster in America, GKids seems like the most likely licensor. They seem to have enough juice and Monster would fit within their prestige anime brand. Otherwise, your only other option is to hunt down the way OOP Australian Siren dvd release.

I hope we get the dub whenever it does get licensed. I don't understand why Netflix couldn't get it.

Anyone know what's up with Puss And Boots films from Toei? This seem like a perfect release for Discotek, but wondering if some sort of issues might be preventing these from getting a US release?

Are you talking about the 1969 film? Because that did get a DVD release from Discotek. Or are there other Toei Puss and Boots films?

Yes, that's one of them. Just wondering about a Blu-ray release.

It was one of three, they got Blu-ray releases in 2020 and again last month.

Perhaps they're waiting to see how Flyin' Phantom Ship performs before they dive into some of the other old Toei scope films of that era

I'm still waiting for my copy of Flying Phantom Ship to dispatch. It's being held back by Treasure Island which still hasn't arrived at RS.

Saint Seiya, the original series, is gonna be available on digital streaming in Europe. Wondering if it will be an upscale.
