That's my experience from visiting France, too. Never had any French DVDs and/or BluRays, but on TV, they have credits for all of the TV shows translated to French.
Might actually be a side effect from Québec: if they have localized everything for the Canadians anyway, they can also use it for French TV airings. |

I would sure love to see The Bionic Woman done this way. I have a feeling this is coming from Universal in the USA....looks like they spent alot of time and money to transfer these in HD. It's hard to imagine them not releasing it here. But I want The Bionic Woman much more.

My Amazon.de (Germany) set finally arrived today. I had 'four' floaters, one disc in each case from both sets. This must be a common problem with these type of cases. 'No scratches' on any of the loose discs though. I should've ordered both sets from Amazon.co.uk. UK was quicker in processing my order and costs were a little less.

Anyone know the full list of cut episodes in the German Blurays?
I would like to know which episodes are full and which are the German-Tv ones. |

The Turbine SMDM series blu-ray release is a German telecast. To put things into proper prospective, the episodes aren't really cut, scenes are more less 'trimmed'. An example would be 'The Seven Million Dollar Man' where we have a familiar dialogue piece 'trimmed' from the scene at [27:00] — Monte Markham / opposite Lee Majors — the missing dialogue "It's wild Steve! It's wild..." Other than that little dialogue snippet, the scene pretty much plays itself out. I've only gotten as far as season 1, episode 'Burning Bright'. I haven't noticed where anything has been really butchered thus far. Episode 'Operation Firefly' does not contain a scene where Lee Majors performs his bionics in order to (turn a log into a canoe) but neither do my NTSC and PAL DVDs. The first 9 seconds of the 'episodic introduction' has been substituted for the opening title sequence — Der Sechs Millionen Dollar Mann — then it resumes to the series 'original opening sequence' as the HL-10 reentry vehicle is launched. Hope this helps... Last edited by do.wayne.ClassicFilm; 01-23-2019 at 12:43 PM. Reason: additional info on episode opening sequence |

I finished up Season 1 over the weekend myself. Starting Season 2 this evening. Very much enjoying this, a most excellent addition to my Blu-ray library.

I still want to go back and watch the three pilot movies before going on to season 2. I watched the episodic (2 parter versions) of the three movies earlier. I know that once I do a complete series watch-over, I'll end up 'picking and choosing' to rewatch some of my personal favorites from the series. I really enjoyed watching 'The Rescue of Athena One' in high definition... all that NASA stock footage was great! This brings me back to when I was little.

Can't see a thread for the Elephant Films version. Has there been any more word on that?
Holding out for uncut versions with English titles... |

You're in the wrong subforums, Elephant should be in the French section.

Audio is simply 'top notch'. Audio exceeded picture quality, which was still impressive by a bit rate standpoint. Universal Studios 'US' went to the well on this one with newer transfers which improved both audio and video. About the audio... The production crew had difficulties when episode 'Midas Touch' was originally produced. The audio feed on dialogue was inconsistent however audio pickup from other microphone recording equipment 'on the set'— capturing door opening, closing, other audio pickups from various noises around the room, etc. comes in clearer. I first noticed this way back on season 1 'Day of the Robot' when actors Lee Majors and John Saxon were conversing in the auto. Fluctuations on audio had a lift, then a muffle, then a lift, etc. This is the reality of 1970s 'television budget' and television production rarely ever went back to re-shoot a scene. Most American movie/ television production companies had a 7 day scheduling shoot to crank out a weekly episode. Universal Studios tried to crank out 6 day shoots on a lot of their 1970s television series in order to save on production costs. Funny, some of the production crew/ actors talk about this on some dvd/ blu-ray extras. This helped educate me on the realities of 'controlled budget' television. These issues occurred back in the 1970s and it would take a restoration budget in order to help smooth over some of the audio abnormalities. Even then, some audio deficiencies may not be able to be corrected— example: season 4, the opening sequence on part 1, 'The Thunderbird Connection'. ![]() |

That was the question, hence my answer. This is the subforums for German releases. So a thread about the Elephant version will probably be found in the French section. Also, don't think there's anything to compare as of yet. BTW Lee Majors likes the box set. |

Thanks, yes I had already checked the French section to no avail. Thought someone in here might have heard something lately.
