Sony's A80K is a nice, but moderate upgrade from last year's A80J. The A80K has LG Display's new OLED module that has larger sub pixels so the color volume and color saturation is improved.
Sony also added a center channel actuator so dialog is clearer and the new A80K is comparable and specially designed to take advantages of the many new enhancements in Sony's HT-A5000, HT-A7000, and the HT-A9 audio systems and the new Bravia Cam for video conferencing. With the A80K you also get Bravia Core streaming for one year at no charge. |

Is Dolby Vision Dark the more accurate option between Dark and Light modes? It seems to be and until popping in a DV disc I didn’t know there were available modes that also had to be calibrated separately. I made the same adjustments I did to everything else in turning off motion smoothing. For most things the DV bright mode tries to make colors pop more and does add a degree of brightness while the Dark mode seems dimmer at first but once your eyes adjust it appears to be the more accurate rendering without the extra light and color saturation effect.
I forgot I had left bright mode on and popped in a B&W title in Dolby vision which the bright mode made unbearably bright until I remembered to switch it to dark mode. |

Does anyone have or know, what is the clicking? So it's the same click as turning on and off the TV. I THINK it's always the Off click. It seems to happen in the middle of the night, I can hear the click but the TV is not on. And it did it just now, the Off click (TV is/was definitely not on, hasn't been on for several hours).

So has anyone here ever tried the more esoteric methods to get rid of, or at least mitigate, DSE? I’ve heard gently rubbing the screen with a cloth where DSE is especially bad may have an effect or loosening the screws on the back of the television. What worries me is there doesn’t seem to be any youtube videos demonstrating either method and pretty much everything has a youtube video.

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe it is the power supply(?) or something else of the TV before/after the TV has done its panel refresh. I never put the sound and the possibility of the TV doing a refresh until I bought an LG OLED computer monitor and it tells me that it is doing the refresh when it shuts off.
