same as any other title, no contract/license currently exists to sell it, or the one that was has expired/changed.

With reports that Lionsgate will be releasing Kill Bill in 4k later this year, what are the odds that the current iTunes listings get the upgrade? Tempted to grab them at $4.99 a piece . . .

Universal just updated The Deer Hunter to 4K, that’s 2 now this year, hopefully they continue to follow Paramount’s lead.

Ya hopefully this means Midnight Run gets upgraded to 4K DV on iTunes as well since it’s a Universal movie that was released on 4K UHD by Shout just like The Deer Hunter.

Difference is Superman 3 was still under Warner Bros, whereas if you bought the Paramount listing of Kill Bill then you won’t be seeing a 4K upgrade with it being a Lionsgate release.

True, a better example might have been Mad Max, which still got a 4K upgrade despite technically being Kennedy Miller in AU.

Kennedy Miller Productions were the production company that made all the Mad Max films, they use Warner Bros to distribute which is why it got the 4K upgrade.

Sorry, just realised the reason for my apparent gibberish above is that Kill Bill has been relisted as Miramax not Lionsgate in AU. So it may be immaterial whether I bought it under Paramount or Miramax as to whether it gets an upgrade.
