USA CBS/Paramount MOD DVD releases of TV series

I know that these short-lived TV series have apparently not been transferred to HD/remastered, but they may be the only physical media DVD releases we'll get of them. I know they're available to buy on Amazon.com (possibly Deep Discount as well), so on there the discs will be DVD-R discs, not pressed discs (aka purple-sided discs).

I have a question to ask about one of the titles, Spencer's Pilots (starring Christopher Stone). Do the episodes on the discs play at NTSC or PAL speed? One Amazon.com rcustomer review suggests the discs don't play on American players.

Other short-lived series released as MOD (manufactured-on-demand) DVD titles by CBS/Paramount in the States, that I know of:

Most Wanted (stars Robert Stack)
The Young Lawyers (stars Lee J. Cobb).

Where would be the best place to find out about any possible new titles being released? I've found Amazon's search engine not to be as good as it has been. It's difficult finding out about CBS series being released as manufactured-on-demand DVD titles.

I would be extremely surprised if CBS made an MOD DVD-R not in NTSC format. If that happened, it must have been an accident, and anyone who received the faulty PAL discs would be entitled to ask for a replacement NTSC copy. But again, this is pretty much impossible, given that these sets are being produced by American companies for the American market and as a general rule, US NTSC displays do not support PAL video. Perhaps the Amazon reviewer was actually talking about some kind of import PAL DVD, or, more likely, their equipment had some sort of issue with the DVD-R media used in the set.

Because these are all DVD releases, the only thing I could suggest would be to keep up with TV Shows on DVD, which has in recent years scaled back from a full website to a Facebook page.

Thanks for adding these three titles to the database.

I haven't yet checked Amazon.de, but when I last checked the IMDb company credits page for Spencer's Pilots, I'm sure it said there had been a release in Germany.

USA The Guns of Will Sonnett: The Complete Series

When visiting Moviezyng a couple of days ago for any new Coming Soon additions, spotted a listing for a manufactured-on-demand DVD release (based on the CBS and DVD logos on the side spine) by CBS/Paramount Home Entertainment of sixties western series The Guns of Will Sonnett (a five-disc set), being released on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 (title and it's release date are subject to change).

After speaking to a fellow member/poster, this TV series was previously released on DVD in the States by Timeless Media.

Below is the Moviezyng DVD pre-order listing page link, followed by the front cover artwork:

Interesting catch. I have the Timeless set, which contains cut-syndicated episodes. I wouldn't mind double dipping to get complete episodes. While I doubt, they got the CBS remastering effort, they could still be better quality than what Timeless released.

Still praying they release Clarissa Explains it All, even as an MOD release.
This time with the proper colour levels of Season 1, the original Season 1 opening, and with later seasons on DVD too.

Also, Salute Your Shorts, which has still never been released on home video. When TVShowsOnDVD was still around, it was the #1 most requested show not on DVD. I'm surprised they never licensed it to Shout Factory like they did with Hey Dude (arguably even more obscure).

At least it's streaming on Paramount+.

Speaking of CBS DVD, I wonder when we might hear announcements from them regarding DVD sets of 2022-23 seasons of shows like NCIS, as well as hot newcomers like Fire Country and So Help Me Todd?

I love love love So Help Me Todd!!!! I wonder if it will get "love" from CBS DVD, maybe CBS Blu-ray, in the form of a season one set?

It's looking like So Help Me Todd, Season 1, is getting the CBS DVD Manufactured on Demand treatment. It has a "street date" of Tuesday, August 22nd. It appears in Amazon and ImportCDs so far. I have just pre-ordered a copy through ImportCDs as Amazon is not taking pre-orders at this time (Sunday 16 July 2023 11:15 PM EDT).

The first season of So Help Me Todd on DVD, the overwhelmingly popular new CBS "dramedy" with Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin, will be a 4-disc DVD set with a total of 21 episodes. It does not appear that it will have extras of any kind.

As a huge fan of the show and MGH, I went ahead and played the guinea pig. I pre-ordered through ImportCDs. There is not a precise MSRP on it, but both Amazon and ImportCDs are looking like about $35.

If you would care to check a thread that you started in Wish Lists about So Help Me Todd:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=363193

There is a reply which mentions that the US DVD release is also available to pre-order on Moviezyng, and (subject to change) it does mention on the Moviezyng listing page some extras/bonus features ("Featurettes; Gag Reel; Deleted Scenes"):

The Moviezyng DVD pre-order listing page now says the total number of discs in the set is five.
