I managed to keep them off my greatest film list, but I'm pretty sure that's the only one they've not been included on

Well, I'm very indecisive when it comes to naming anything as a firm favorite, and most of what passes for "comedy" these days is not to my liking at all. If it wasn't in any kind of order, I'd probably have added more.

I grew up in the 90s...Jim Carrey was my favorite actor, so I basically liked every one of his movies. I haven't really seen any comedies in the 70s or 80s, which is why most of my favorites are from the 90s and 00s.

As far as my favorites...they sort of dwindle at 10, and I didn't want to just throw 5 more comedies in the mix, so I decided to stop with my top 10.

1. Wedding Crashers (2005)
Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn with non-stop laughter the entire movie make this film not only my favorite comedies ever, but one of my favorite films too. 10/10
2. Old School (2003)
Same as above...What's not to love about a few 30 year old men acting and partying with college kids! 10/10
3. Liar Liar (1997)
Growing up, this was my favorite comedy. Jim Carrey's best film in my opinion. Laughter from start to finish! 9/10
4. The Mask (1994)
Also one of my favorite superhero/comic book films. Jim Carrey and the cartoonish comedy are over-the-top! 8/10
5. Rush Hour 2 (2001)
Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan together = pure gold. 8/10
6. Bruce Almighty (2003)
Jim Carrey again is terrific. Add in Jennifer Aniston, Morgan Freeman and a lot of laughs...7/10
7. Rush Hour (1998)
(See Rush Hour 2) A combination of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan is nothing but win! 7/10
8. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)
Jim Carrey is absolutely nuts! Alllllrighty then! 7/10
9. 21 Jump Street (2012)
Saw this in theaters this year...I haven't laughed that hard in a while. 7/10
10. Dumb and Dumber (1994)
Wow! 1994 was one hell of a year for Jim Carrey...Ace Ventura, The Mask, and this over-the-top comedy with Jeff Daniels. One of the first comedies I had ever seen! 7/10

Honorable Mention

-Almost all other Woody Allen films (you can probably tell I'm a fan, but I held it to just 3 for the sake of variety)
-Good Frat Pack films (yeah, a lot of these films are garbage, but there is some gold): Wedding Crashers, Starsky & Hutch, The Watch (I didn't mind it, okay, no it's none of the greatest comedies ever, but I thought it got the job done)
-Classics that couldn't quite make the cut: Vacation, Animal House, Christmas Vacation, Ghostbusters
-Casino Royale (1967) (I considered putting that on here, just to be the only one)
-Raising Arizona (I do love Cage, but this film is just too Coen-y to put on any kind of top 15 list, although it is a lot of fun, and has an EXCELLENT supporting cast including John Goodman, William Forsythe and M. Emmett Walsh!!); note that most of the other attempts at comedy from the Coens are almost unwatchable, they are better at dramatic films I guess
-Scorsese's stabs at the genre: The King of Comedy, After Hours
-The Hangover and the better examples filth it inspires: The Hangover, Horrible Bosses, Ted
-movies with Will Ferrell in a leading role that don't make me want to gouge my eyes out: The Other Guys, Blades of Glory
-Judd Apatow's better films: Superbad, Knocked Up, The 40 Year Old Virgin
-are they comedies? maybe, are the good? yes: Back to the Future, American Psycho
-good caper films: Ocean's 11, Ocean's Eleven, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch
