Is OP no longer updating this thread?

I'm looking forward to Green Mile, Godfather Trilogy, and Panic Room upgrades but it looks like this thread isn't being updated any more.

If you have information of upcoming releases you can you just post them.

You can’t expect XanderAE to gather all the information or or to be able to oust all the time.

I can’t speak for Gonzo but I believe Apple had a difficult enough time getting studios to agree to free 4K for movies and Disney held out for years.

Distributors are going to want something for the time and expense of upgrading TV shows.

Also TV shows are just too fragmented due to the way series are sold.
Every time a new season comes out they release a new boxset, so you’ve got a situation where there’s season 1, season 2, seasons 1-2, then seasons 1-3 etc, eventually up until that complete boxset with the box sets in between then being removed from sale just leaving the individuals and the completes.
With each of those you only have access to the actual set you purchased so let’s say they do upgrade the individual seasons and the complete sets, will they also upgrade the sets that are no longer available in the store?
We’ve already got a situation with the complete sets where a couple of earlier seasons were SD with the remaining being HD but due to them ‘apparently’ not being able to mix SD & HD then the whole complete set is sold as SD with the only way of getting HD is buy certain seasons individually.
I would love to see 4K just be upgraded across the board but it just seems there are far more complications involved with tv shows compared to movies.

Hi all, I am planning to update the OP with what we know for the coming year, just need to find the time. I’ll try this weekend using the upcoming physical disc calendars, but yes - please let me know what you have already and I’ll make sure to include. Thanks.

There is no 29th of February this year, so that should be 1 March on your list.

I'd go ahead and add the following:

19 April
Heavy Metal
Heavy Metal 2000 (currently SD on the U.S. store)

26 April
Singin' In The Rain

And I'd remove the following:

26 April
For All Mankind

An employee told a user here that Criterion doesn't currently have any plans to offer 4K on digital even on titles they have digital rights to, so short of them changing their mind before 26 of April, there's no point in having FAM listed.

Looks like 12 Monkeys is coming to UHD on April 25th. I believe it should qualify for an iTunes upgrade, no?

Unlikely. The UHD is from Arrow, but the iTunes version is from Universal.

Guess there’s hope for the UK then as the movies not even available in the store.

I'm going to get the UHD disc of this one. It looks like a great release and Arrow should be rewarded.

If I buy Some Like It Hot ($4.99) do you think this will get 4K upgrade?

Not likely, 4K disc is Kino Lorber and there is no sign that itunes has the 4K license for this coming.

Hoping - probably in vain - that Ghostbusters 1&2 get updated with those additional extras from the new edition. I’m really no interested in buying it physically again.

Does MGM not do digital 4K anymore. It seems it has been a while since they upgraded.

Also, does anyone know if Cinema Paradiso is still Miramax in the U.S.? per the thumbnail it is. If Paramount has this now, the sale could mean an upgrade coming soon since the 4k is OOP.

MGM still does codes and digital 4K, No Time to Die and House of Gucci are both itunes exclusive codes, just not this one since the disc is being released by Kino.

I mean with catalog titles. They seem to have stopped.

It wouldn’t surprise me that now Amazon are in charge they’ll just continue the theme of licensing the 4K catalogue releases out to the likes of Arrow etc.
No more iTunes upgrades in that case, it’s already annoying that Robocop won’t be seeing the HDR upgrade with the physical being an Arrow release.
It’s a shame these releases are not made available for purchase via digital.
