There’s also been this thing as far as iTunes is concerned where when the physical distribution differs from the listed iTunes studio then for whatever reason iTunes doesn’t get an upgrade. In this case however awo69 and Alan Gordon put things in perspective a few posts back so a little less of a concern. |

Edit: according to Wikipedia Warner Home Media acquired Poltergeist in 1999. Last edited by -Gonzo-; 01-22-2023 at 12:40 PM. |

I know Poltergeist is under WB now. But it was originally released by MGM. My point was it got upgraded to 4K DV on iTunes so I expect the same thing to happen with the Rocky sequels. It was in response to someone who didn't think the Rocky sequels would get upgraded on iTunes.

I'm not aware of WB having anything to do with MGM's digital output though, so that decision will be handled by MGM, and not WB. |

Unless Amazon decides to have MGM join, then no.
This is literally no different than when 20th Century Studios released the Daniel Craig Bond movies on 4K before "No Time To Die" came out, or when WB released the newer set AFTER "No Time To Die" came out, as they became MGM's "official" home entertainment partner, after Fox stopped being their partner, and WB took over. EDIT: Another example is Universal releasing the physical Blu-ray discs for STX Entertainment releases. Last edited by Alan Gordon; 01-23-2023 at 11:32 PM. |

Any thoughts on when the Lethal Weapon quadrilogy or Speed Racer (2008) might go 4K?

11 April Cool Hand Luke The Maltese Falcon 25 April Cool Hand Luke "East Of Eden" and "Rio Bravo" are probably coming soon as well. "The Way We Were" release date is now in doubt. |

"The Magnificent Seven" probably won't, as it's an MGM title digitally, and being released on 4K Blu-ray by Shout Factory. |

I bought "Aladdin" for my kid many moons ago from iTunes in HD and when it went 4K they relisted it. So, there's certainly precedent.
