The concern was that things have changed since the first Rocky went 4K as that was pre Amazon and as far as I’m aware Warner Bros we aren’t involved in that release.
There’s also been this thing as far as iTunes is concerned where when the physical distribution differs from the listed iTunes studio then for whatever reason iTunes doesn’t get an upgrade.
In this case however awo69 and Alan Gordon put things in perspective a few posts back so a little less of a concern.

Poltergeist is an MGM movie that was released on 4K UHD by WB and it got upgraded so I would expect the same for the rest of the Rocky movies.

Poltergeist says it’s under Warner Bros according to the iTunes Store listing.
Edit: according to Wikipedia Warner Home Media acquired Poltergeist in 1999.

Yeah, quick rule of thumb is that pre-1986 MGM belongs to Warner now. Although, as they sometimes say in commercials, "some exceptions may apply".

MGM library nowdays is post '86 releases and the assets of various studios they acquired since (United Artists, Orion, AIP, etc...)

I know Poltergeist is under WB now. But it was originally released by MGM. My point was it got upgraded to 4K DV on iTunes so I expect the same thing to happen with the Rocky sequels. It was in response to someone who didn't think the Rocky sequels would get upgraded on iTunes.

While I am of the mind that iTunes will get 4K upgrades for Rocky II-IV (and have stated such in a previous post), it's important to point out that WB is releasing these movies on behalf of MGM on physical Blu-ray, as MGM's "official" home video partner.

I'm not aware of WB having anything to do with MGM's digital output though, so that decision will be handled by MGM, and not WB.

Unless Amazon decides to have MGM join, then no.

This is literally no different than when 20th Century Studios released the Daniel Craig Bond movies on 4K before "No Time To Die" came out, or when WB released the newer set AFTER "No Time To Die" came out, as they became MGM's "official" home entertainment partner, after Fox stopped being their partner, and WB took over.

EDIT: Another example is Universal releasing the physical Blu-ray discs for STX Entertainment releases.

Cinderella (1950) will be released on March 28, 2023, but it could be a relist, so there's that.

Any thoughts on when the Lethal Weapon quadrilogy or Speed Racer (2008) might go 4K?

"East Of Eden" and "Rio Bravo" are probably coming soon as well.

"The Way We Were" release date is now in doubt.

"Rio Bravo" should. There will probably be a relist, but WB usually upgrades the current version as well.

"The Magnificent Seven" probably won't, as it's an MGM title digitally, and being released on 4K Blu-ray by Shout Factory.

Hopefully Disney won't kill the ITunes redeem of my HD Cinderella code so I can get the 4k digitally in March.
Hopefully they won't do a digital relisting like Warner Bros does.

The creator of this thread hasn't posted here in nearly 3 months... I'm not optimistic that it's going to be updated as more titles are added, unfortunately.

I bought "Aladdin" for my kid many moons ago from iTunes in HD and when it went 4K they relisted it. So, there's certainly precedent.
