Default Seeking recommendations

My 2011 Samsung plasma is about to give up the ghost so I'll need a new tv soon. My budget is $450-$500 and a 43-inch display is fine as it will be in a small room. Smart features aren't a concern, just picture/audio quality. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Coming from Plasma, I'd suggest an OLED as you'd get similar picture quality with newer features. There isn't a 43" OLED, but maybe a Sony 42" or 48" model, as they have better motion handling than LG which could be an issue coming from plasma with smooth motion.

EDIT: WAY out of your budget, LOL. I didn't read your post properly.

If you can keep your plasma going for a while longer and save up, this looks like it'll be the one to beat at your screen sizes. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=347040

If stretching your budget is a no-go, check this out https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/be.../40-42-43-inch

Thanks for the info. I think my greatest difficulty is finding a budget tv that handles fast motion about as well as plasma did.
