Default HTPC help

I built this PC about 4.5 years ago for gaming. I want to use it now as a HTPC. I'm going to order a blu ray/3D drive but wanted to make sure the rest of the specs should be good for 3D playback and some 4K streaming. Any opinions?

EVGA 02G-P4-3753-KR GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked

ASRock Z87E-ITX LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s

SeaSonic G Series SSR-550RM 550W ATX12V / EPS12V S

Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Ca -

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDR

Well while it can do the job i cant say it will do 4K streaming without the cpu get a bit warm as you dont have 4k HEVC hardware decoding with that setup. But it can do it. I have a similar setup and playing netflix 4k streams will have 20/30% of cpu usage. But no worries other than when weather is very hot and your pc has poor ventilation.

For 3D playback is more than enough.

One more thing....If I upgraded the GPU to a GTX 1050 Ti, would that solve the issues?

Totally. Even GT 1030 can do what you want and wastes less power. But if you have no such worries and can go 1050 Ti do it.
