Default Blu-ray player for PC

I’d like one these to play back my Blus on my PC. VLC apparently doesn’t play and Leawo won’t let me use the mouse, effectively rendering it worthless. Ideally, I’d like something free, but a small fee would be OK for a good one.

Mouse control is forbidden on many Blu-rays, so mouse won't work on those no matter what players you use.

You use the keyboard. PowerDVD's keyboard controls: https://help.cyberlink.com/stat/help...00_hotkeys.htm

MakeMKV isn’t free but it integrates with VLC allowing you to play Blu-rays (multi region as well). Mouse control works, too.

The Best Blu-ray Ripping Software is VLC Media Player, which is the popular media player frequently used by users. VLC Media Player is the free player that allows users to play an unprotected Blu-ray disk or to play Blu-ray iOS files on your computer. You can watch the actual discs on your Windows 10 PC without having to convert them to a digital file. The first option to mention is the good old Swiss Army Knife, VLC. Natively, VLC won't just play your Blu-ray discs, so you'll need to do some tweaking.

ref ' Leawo won’t let me use the mouse, effectively rendering it worthless.' Powerdvd blocks mouse use too, people use the keyboard instead possibly arrow keys without checking.

Leawo gives an option of using a virtual remote that you can use to navigate the menus and whatnot. Also, it allows for the keyboard to be used in that way as well. That is how I use it.

There are a number of media player software programs that can be used to play Blu-ray discs on a PC. Some of the most popular options include VLC Media Player, which is a free and open-source media player that supports a wide range of audio and video formats, and Leawo Blu-ray Player, which is a commercial media player specifically designed for playing Blu-ray discs.

If you are having issues with VLC Media Player not playing your Blu-ray discs or with Leawo Blu-ray Player not allowing you to use the mouse, there may be a problem with the software or with your system configuration. You may want to try updating the software to the latest version or checking for any updates to your system to see if that resolves the issue.

If you are still having problems with these programs or if you are looking for an alternative media player, there are a number of other options available that may be more suitable for your needs. Some popular media player software programs that can be used to play Blu-ray discs on a PC include PowerDVD, KMPlayer, and Media Player Classic.

In addition to media player software, you may also want to consider using a screen recorder to capture the video from your Blu-ray disc as you play it. Screen recorders allow you to record the video and audio output of your computer as you play a Blu-ray disc, and they can be used to create a digital copy of the content that can be played back on any device.

There are a number of screen recording software programs available, both free and paid, and many of them are specifically designed to capture video and audio from Blu-ray discs. Some popular screen recording software options include Movavi Screen Recorder, OBS Studio, and Camtasia.

You can find more information about the best free screen recorders in this article: https://www.movavi.com/learning-port...recorders.html. This article provides a list of several screen recording software options that you can try, along with a brief overview of their features and capabilities.

I think every mouse should just work. My wireless mouse works just fine and normal on leawoo windows10 (mouse does all the playback functions , subtitles etc) the same way as the mouse works on all mediaplayers.(but i always ignore that leawoo java needed popupmenu etc., maybe that makes a difference)
Can't think of a needed blu ray mouse function that i miss and can't do on leawoo ( and also the same mouse use operation on a cyberlink 14 )

VLC, KMPlayer, and Media Player Classic are not blu-ray players and no, hacks found on virus plagued sites does not make them one either.

It’s 2023, and still no legal UHD Blu-ray playback on computers aside from SGX!

Actually, there are some files endorsed by the VLC dev team that you can install into VLC that’ll allow you to play some Blu-ray movies. There are tutorials on how to do it, just look up “Play Blu-rays on VLC”. There should be a result that pops up leading to files on the VLC website.

If you have the storage space to do so OP, you can also just straight up rip BDs using MakeMKV, then use VLC to play the MKV files created by that program. That’s what I normally do.

This requires downloading AACS keys, which is not legal. AACS keys are stored in the firmware of your (UHD) Blu-ray drive and are never sent out of it. A proper (UHD) Blu-ray player program will make the drive perform the AACS decryption on its own by sending its own keys to the drive which triggers the drive's AACS keys.

VLC isn't an ideal solution. It's not common for it to play the latest encrypted discs, as the kinds of leaks required to make that happen don't happen very often. (I've lost track but I'm guessing it's been awhile since the appropriate materials have been refreshed.) Between less-than-ideal AACS support, broken BD+ support, and poor support for BDs in general (several discs I've loaded have refused to work at all, or the menus are so poorly handled that you can't start a film), there's not much point in attempting to perform disc playback other than the satisfaction of tinkering with the whole thing and maybe, if you're a coder, writing some patches to fix some of the problems.

VLC pared with an updated MakeMKV and LibreDrive can play the newest discs. The only real problematic discs to this day are Sony/Fox/Disney releases from 2010-2016, especially ones with convoluted AACS patterns and Cinavia.
