I'll soon be visiting Canada for the first time and was wondering whether you guys have any recommendations in terms of Blu-rays that are exclusively available in Canada?

So far I only have these on my watch list:

L'âge des ténèbres / Days of Darkness
Turbo Kid (not exclusive, but more features than other releases)

The Vengeance Trilogy has the most extras anywhere (and fully subbed).

We have exclusive bilingual Disney slipcovers! :-)

Yesterday I found the Canadian exclusive AGE OF ADALINE at Giant Tiger for $6.99. This came with an exclusive slip and postcards which I don't think were available in the US market.

We have a music store chain called Sunrise Records that carries exclusives similar to Target. However, some slips (such as the recent release of A STAR IS BORN) is printed right on the cover as a Sunrise exclusive. So it is unique.

I would also check second hand stores. If you are a SteelBook collector, you will oftentimes find many SteelBooks there as they have been around in Canada a lot longer than in the US. You will also find a lot of exclusive Canadian titles at second hand stores.

Any recommendations for good stores in the Toronto area?

Well, I just read that Queen Video is closing. They have a huge eclectic selection of movies. Not sure if they are distinctly Canadian though.

Toronto is littered with a chain of second hand stores including Value Village and the Salvation Army which has DVD and some Blu-rays. Prices are typically $3.00 CDN.

If you are interested in hard-to-find Asian releases, there are many in Pacific Mall and Markham First plaza, but be forewarned that many of them are bootlegs. However, you will never find as many Asian titles in any American city.

There is still Bay Street Video, Eyesore Cinema and a Videoflicks still around.

Also, they sell movies at Best Buy, Sunrise Records and Walmart.

Amazon.ca has some deals that are better than Amazon.com. For example, BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES is currently $68.99 CDN which equates to approximately $50.00 US. Amazon.com is currently selling this for $70.00 US.

Ship it to your Canadian hotel or to your friendly neighbourhood Canadian.

If you happen to come across a Giant Tiger, take a look in there too. Usually find some great titles in there for cheap as well.
