On the profile for the Canadian Blu-Ray of Avengers: EndGame here on Blu-Ray.com it shows the cover is in just English. Maybe Disney got too many complaints from Canadian customers and is going to switch back to "English Only Covers" in Canada. If they did then they learned their lesson. It doesn't make sense for why they would all of a sudden start doing that in Canada when they went all those years without doing it.

I wonder if Disney will re-release The Little Mermaid, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Mary Poppins Returns on Blu-Ray & DVD in Canada with English Only Covers?

Usually the US covers are placeholder.

It's just a placeholder. The official blu-ray cover/4k cover art has not yet been revealed yet.

Can't they just do reversable cover art so one side is in English & the other is in French?

No, because the French Canadians would be upset that the French isn't displayed on the outside by default.

I think you need contacts or glasses... maybe even eye correction surgery. "Barely noticed"?! No matter where you're looking at the English printed word, the French is right there along with it.

The slip cover will still look horrible and can't be reversed.

If only they leave the title in english and have everything else bilingual.

If only there was someone who can make both sides happy and design the logo better like this

Thatís not Quebec-compliant. The bilingual title would have to put the French first.

Then Disney is going to get in trouble, as that's the logo on the Canadian Steelbook packaging.

Disney's in trouble regardless, 'cuz sales are going to be dropping on these things.

It's stuff like this that keeps businesses out of Canada... just the hassle of dealing with our monumental levels of nonsense. The less irritating barriers we have in place, the better and more numerous our releases will be. Fox and Sony already leave Canadians out in the cold on certain 4K releases.... eventually other studios will join them.

Doesn't bother me, as I travel down to the US monthly, at least. But it's damn irritating that Canada shoots itself in the foot in so many ways, and for no good or logical purpose.

I see the Best Buy exclusive steelbook of Alita: Battle Angel is bilingual. Bilingual cover. Bilingual spine. Hope it's not a sign of things to come...

What's even worse with Disney is that other studios mainly Warner Bros do bilingual packaging but it is so tiny you can hardly notice it. This is such a pain because amazon.com is so expensive to import from. Here look at the difference between Disneys bilingual packaging and Warners Bros bilingual packaging this sucks for Disney to do this. Importing a 4k Blu Ray from amazon.com can be up to 60Cad, or more with shipping and import fees. I could also get my parents to drive me 6 hours to Montanna to there BestBuy and target which is a pain. I am gonna stop buying Disney movies for a while and support Warner Bros, Paramount that do it right and they are not as greedy as Disney with them sadly buying Fox. Disney also overprices there standard Blu rays in general with them rarely ever going on sale and they go can go for between 25 and 40 dollars depending on the store. As of right now, Disney doesn't support 3D Blu rays in North America, because of this we already sadly have to import them from Europe which is already irritating again unlike other studios.

The Canadian cover for Avengers: EndGame is not as bad as I thought it was going to be but I still prefer the American cover.

Well, in a year or two we wonít be part of Canada anymore, so Iím sure we can ditch French out here. Just hang tight!

That Avengers cover isn't awful. It's fine that it's at least the full size regular logo.

Cinderella's signature edition looks absolutely putrid though.

I am happy that the Canadian cover for Avengers: EndGame doesn't have the title on it twice like Captain Marvel's does.

But yeah, I saw the cover for Cinderella and the French on it just doesn't work.

Did Disney every explain why they switched to bilingual covers for Canadian Blu-Ray & DVD releases after releasing English only covers for so many years?
