Default Honneamise animé updates - 'Freedom' and 'Gunbuster vs. Diebuster' set for BD release

At the launch panel for its premium Honneamise label, the North American anime distributor Bandai Entertainment confirmed that in November, it will bring out a four-disc Blu-ray box set of Freedom, priced at US$139.98. The standard DVD will follow in early 2009 in the general Bandai Entertainment line. Also in November, Honneamise will bring out the Blu-ray edition of Gunbuster vs Diebuster Aim for the Top! The GATTAI!! Movie, the theatrical compilation of Gainax's Gunbuster and Gunbuster 2 OAV series.

Side note on Freedom, It will contain the seventh episode which doesn't seem be coming out on HD DVD release, meaning that Volume 6 is the final HD DVD release of the series.

Evangelion is done by ADV (except for the movies ADV dubbed but Manga released it on dvd)and they are pretty much going where Geneon went which sucks because i want the final volume to Kanon because i love that series but of course it was supposed to come out Tuesday but they pulled it just like last time with that series due to licensing troubles or something like that oh and speaking of Geneon, Funimation is taking at least some of Geneon's releases (or all) so you never know and dont forget Funimation is like really the only anime company besides Honneamise/Bandai Visual that are releasing out blu-rays

Ex Machina is really good just the cgi animation alone on the blu-ray is enough of a reason to own it

Ya, hopefully FuniMation will see the greatness of Blu and put out the goods. Like a ultimate DB/Z/GT collection.

A guy can dream though right?

that would be like buying the Metal Gear Solid 4 80GB PS3 bundle in how much that would cost to have everything from to Dragon Ball to GT plus all of the movies and tv specials i rather just have like the complete Dragon Ball series box set, the complete Dragon Ball Z box set, and so on

Meh, its worth it in my book. DBZ was my first anime (besides Pokemon ) and its better than most of the stuff thats out there right now. So I deffinatly think its worth the price. Trigun, Rouruni Kenshin and Naruto are up there too. (Just look at my name.........and yes, I spelled Sensei wrong on purpose.)

Yeah, one of the things I noticed in both the list of former Geneon titles Funi now has as well as the list of former ADV titiles Funi now has, is that many of the titles listed have already been released in their entirety. Could be that they just wanted to get more out on the shelves for people that missed them, but I'm kinda hioping they are at least considering some of them for an eventual Blu release, should their Blu endevours start working out even better?

well see in the beginning in the year remember people who bought the limited edition of Devil May Cry 4 had that special offer and then Rightstuf.com took that offer since ADV wouldnt do it well at the same time ADV removed series like Air, Kanon, Welcome to the NHK, Shattered Angels, Venus Versus Virus, Devil May Cry, and so on off of their website and then they delayed some of those series well ADV is doing that again. Air finished along with the movie which was good because its a great anime, and Venus Versus Virus ended. Kanon only 1 more volume to go, Welcome to the NHK 2 more to go, Devil May Cry 1 more to go, Shattered Angels 2 more to go so it makes me think should ADV just finish these series off in 1 blow and let Funimation do what they want or want to end up like Geneon where we left off at Hellsing OVA volume 3? I do agree since Funimation loves Blu-ray now they should release Kanon, Air, and so on a complete Blu-ray set day and date with a dvd complete set(of course as thinpacks)

From the article's I've read, ADV actually broke up with one of their licensing partners this time, which is the cause of all of this, and they moved to Funi. From what they say, ADV is working on something like 24 more licenses from another company which 'should keep them afloat'. But according to what I have read, the other titles are definitely no longer theirs, and now belong to Funi? I could be wrong through. but I dont think ADV has the power to just finish them off if they want.

well the ones like the final volume of Kanon, Welcome to the NHK volume 5 (even though its been said that some copies are at Best Buy stores) have been left as and i quote "Fate undetermined" and the business partner they broke up with is that Sojitz

I hate how people dont consider DBZ anime, its because of how wide its fan base is and how successful too. I consider it anime and probably one of the best and intriguing. DBZ IS THE BEST!!!
