Well I'd have denied you for something going on sale later, there was nothing wrong with what you bought and buyers remorse/lack of patience waiting for a sale isn't the retailers problem. I'd even say it's behaviour like that which could lead to a retailer taking a hard line on rules of refunds for everybody if too many people were taking advantage of a lenient policy.
But no subtitles on a foreign language film is pretty terrible. Was there a dub track? If so I could see them saying sorry it was in the small print but I'd still want/be annoyed if I didn't get a refund.

Yeah, I shouldn't be complaining. I'd rather own the movie then not having it at all. The denial was offensive and I took it personally.

No, there was no dub track, subtitles, or English CC. I can still enjoy the experience of watching the movie.

Ok so here’s an odd one, Kill Bill vol 1 & vol 2 and Jackie Brown are back in the store for both the UK and US.
However for the UK Jackie Brown has gone back to Lionsgate and the Kill Bills are now under Studiocanal.

For the US all three are back under Lionsgate.

Stupid question ahead.

Do owners of the de-listed U.S. Paramount versions see a play/resume option or does iTunes want you to buy ?

Wondering if there is any cross mojonation going on.
The Paramount codes are still showing an iTunes redemption option for Kill Bill vol. 1 and 2.
What do you get ?

The Paramount KB2 shows a buy option now. Own both, so flipped back to the Lionsgate version for my sanity.

This is a bit random but hoping someone else has had this issue: for Star Trek VI the undiscovered country I keep trying to play the Directors cut edition located in the extras. However, when i play it, I only get Audio with no picture is this a common issue/any thoughts? I tried to play it on the most recent gen and previous gen Apple TVs with no luck

Yeah it’s a little glitchy that one as used to do that for me when it first upgraded to 4K which I found if I pressed pause the scroll along the play bar a little the picture would then appear.
You could also try swiping down and selecting From Beginning as that may also do the same.
It sometimes also initially freezes on the Paramount logo for a few seconds and then starts playing.

Usually in these situations if you search for the movie via the iTunes Store(iOS)/Movies app(AppleTV) then you’ll see Buy on opening the listing.
Your purchase will still be listed separately by going direct to your purchased library.
Via the TV app you just see the option to play/resume as that app works a little differently.

That I cannot answer, as the Paramount versions are still on the server it may still give those versions upon redemption but it could also just say they’re no longer available. I’d think it would be unlikely they’d redeem the Lionsgate versions.
I’d guess the only way to know for sure is to just try and see what happens.

What’s with Sicario 2 now rental only in the U.K. store? It’s Lionsgate but this seems a bit odd?

Thanks for letting me know, but as you can see from above, I checked it out, and I'm still only seeing the option to view movies from Family Share members.

This is from the Apple TV (5th Generation, AKA 1st Generation 4K).
Here we go again Fella, tvOS 16.4 and this guys claiming 3000+ movies loading instantly
https://www.reddit.com/r/appletv/com...rm=1&context=3

Edit: well so far so good for me at least, I’ve had an issue where my US account wouldn’t load my library unless I did a restart after switching profiles, loads instantly now.
Fingers crossed for you.

I haven't tried the restart trick you mentioned above on the release candidate version of 16.4, nor have I tried my Apple TV (4th Generation) which shows a library that hasn't been updated in over a year, but on my Apple TV 5th Generation (AKA 1st Generation 4K), it still says I have no purchased content and goes straight to Family Sharing.

The iTunes Movies app correctly shows 2298 movies. The iTunes TV Shows app shows an even higher number due to all the free episodes I've collected over time.

Viewing my library from a Family Member's user profile shows all my movies correctly on the TV app, as does iOS, iPadOS, macOS Ventura, and the Apple TV app on third party devices (Roku, Xbox, etc.).

The thing with that restart trick is that I at least had tiles, they were all blank but they still represented library titles.
I noticed someone else replied to that Reddit post saying they have the same issue as what you’ve described.
It just seems so odd why you just get family sharing and nothing else.
I’m wondering what would happen if you disabled purchase sharing on all family devices just to see what happens when the library is selected then?

Some of the covers in my collection weren’t showing on my iPhone/iPad, but after the 16.4 update, they show. This feels like it’s been an issue for months. Happy it’s fixed.

I updated my Apple TV (3rd Generation - HD) today. I didn't do a factory reset on it after my library quit updating, so it still shows everything purchased prior to January 2022. No changes after upgrade. Still stuck in January 2022 on the Apple TV app. The iTunes Movies and iTunes TV Store continues to update as expected.

So what's with yet another relisting? For those of us who waited to buy the Tarantino flicks on Paramount, and got Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction upgrades, does that mean we've lucked out on Jackie Brown & Kill Bill?

I guess Lionsgate paid for the digital streaming rights.
As for the 4K I guess that ultimately depends on who puts out the 4K, if Paramount do then the Lionsgate versions won’t and if it’s Lionsgate then the Paramount versions won’t.
At this point flip a coin.

Has anyone noticed if there's a pattern to iTunes sale price changes between different countries? I almost never use iTunes (and I only have a couple of movies there because they wouldn't redeem anywhere else) but based on what I've seen on different CheapCharts country-specific sites, price changes and the frequency of those changes can differ vastly from one country to another. I'm just wondering if there's any historical evidence that shows price changes in one country might be an indicator that such changes will be seen in other countries iTunes storefronts.

As an example, according to CheapCharts the movie Monster Hunter in the US iTunes store has been $14.99 since 5/31/22. However in the UK store it's bounced around between a low of 3.99 pounds ($4.93 USD) and a high of 9.99 pounds ($12.36 USD) approximately 10 times during approximately the same time period.

I know this question is a shot in the dark, and I'm guessing there's either no proven correlation or the European market (for example) is simply priced differently due to the fact they have fewer digital streaming providers in the first place but I figured I'd ask anyway.

I compare US and AU price drops and there's a little crossover but not much. Which is a bummer as much of my wishlist drops on the US store but not AU.

Many of the same titles will drop, but rarely at the same time or by the same amount.
